Bilge pump running

Does anyone know where the float for the bilge pump is located? This weekend I turned on my bilge pump and it wouldn’t shut off. Even with battery switch to off it keeps running. I suspect the float is stuck but couldn’t find it. I had to disconnect the terminal wire to shut it off. A pic of the float location would be awesome!

I had it happen on my 242 a couple years ago - I did some boat yoga and crawled into the engine bay where I could reach the bilge pump. Just shook it a few times and the problem stopped. I suspect the float was stuck and just dislodged it. Never has happened again (2yrs now).
On mine there is a wire housing little connector a little more towards center from my battery switch that is labeled “bilge pump”. This is where I disconnected it until figuring out the float. I don’t claim that shaking things is the way to fix a problem - but hey it worked 😊

.
Our bilge pump continued to run one time due to a tie wrap getting lodged in the float. We always keep one of those grabber snake tools on board to help reach those hard to access areas. (Like a bilge pump).

Bilge pump is located at the lowest point under the engine on our Cobalts.

Or just remove your engine to get to it!

I removed my pump and float and installed a new pump that doesn't use a float.
