Update to the quick fender clips

Post by Scubadeep1 »

Have now been using the quick fender clips by Phender Pro which is what Cobalt installs as an option. They Rock, it is a quick grab from storage the 3 fenders that are already set up at length for the boat and pop them in, takes less that 20 seconds to set all three of them when coming in to dock, no fumbling tying off. They are expensive yes but everyone on the boat always comments on how great they are, people on the dock also admire them, When leaving the dock reach over push pin and pull and throw back in storage. Easy peasy. Just thought others might want to know if they are worth the investment. Absolutely

Use mine all the time. I think they're the best thing since sliced bread.

I've got a set, and they do look like the cobalt web site shows:

scroll down to fender clip package. I don't have the custom Cobalt fender cozy on mine as shown there. Pics of mine to follow. They are convenient.

There are two on each side on the 2018 220s, this one is just aft of the mid cleat.

So I’ve tied up to new cobalts that have these and my only beef with them is if you are tying up to another boat the fenders sit too low. So the rub rails will touch. So we ended up wedging a fender between tied very close to my center cleat. So they wouldn’t bump each other

Add a 3rd bumper to mid cleat often. And use maine coast covers on a dark hull. The factory ones leave scratches.

My kind of slip! We beat the crowd for lunch at “Cobalt” restaurant. Dub’s favorite! It’s right inside the Pass here. A good one.

I have the quick factory installed clips on my R5 Surf and my Marker One but sometimes have the need to raise or lower them depending upon the dock or the size boat I’m tied up to in the middle of the lake. I found these and installed them on my quick clips and they are amazingly easy to adjust. Best fenders I’ve ever owned. The company is Mission and it is called their Sentry Fender.

This looks very cool. At my lake (chq) we have a lot of verticals pilots that are pounded into the ground. Think a pencil jammed into the ground. Could these attach to them at all? Or would it require a nail to hang on? Thanks

They would easily attach to any shape pilots(no nail needed) within a few seconds and stay in place. Go to there website and they have videos and pictures.
