Is dialing back the idle speed something a novice can do? I’m finding the idle on my boat is way too fast with the channels on my lake and for a rookie docking?

I hate dropping it out of gear going through channels in order to hold distance between other boats.

Hey speedy

When you have a higher pitch prop to match power packages your idle mph is always fast.( almost exceeding the ol 5mph zone)

The ecu commands idle speed and must stay where it set to idle efficiently and have good cone clutch engadgment.

Tough problem to have pal!! Enjoy being that guy that with the 70 mph Cobalt!!

Glad you got her!

Yea you shouldn't play with the idle screws because that's not what they really are. With douprops they cruise right along. I catch people all the time. Passed the water patrol last time out. You should be around 550-650 I'm sure.
