New to us 2004 220 496HO. Looking forward to boating on Winnebago and the other lakes up here. Just moved here in the fall from Chicagoland and was used to boating on the chain of lakes down there with our 190 Chaparral.

And there are two other cheeseheads in your area. I wouldn't get too friendly with either one of them if I was you, because they'll show up unexpectedly at your house to drink all your beer and eat Cheetos. One of them will belch, fart, and lie about how fast his is boat is.

Wait, that could be anyone of us. We all lie about how fast our boats are!

We have only taken her out once since I picked it up from Iowa (5 hour drive home). It was a cool, overcast day, everyone was 'freezing', so I wasnt able to open it up much, but hoping to get into the 60s.

Ive only hit 60 once last October but had 5 adults and a full tank. I have my Hill marine props on now but I've only ran it twice and I haven't been able to crack it open.
Glad you found thai boat and brought her over here. Does it have captains call?

I a 5-10 mins west of Appleton. It does have captain's call, sounds awesome! The 420hp GXI Volvo vs the 425hp HO Merc should be a good run!

Hmm. I'm gonna call it for the Volvo. Because he's shorter so there's less weight and wind drag. And his head is more aerodynamic.

As for launching, we drove around a couple weeks ago and checked out a few launches, but so far only launched in Fremont. Looks like a nice ramp at the public park in Winneconne, and I went to Jefferson Park Menasha once a few years back in the old boat and that seemed OK as well. Anywhere you would recommend?

I myself stay away from Jefferson park. Everyone hits going out into the lake or back to the park. Bfun and I if I launch in neenah go to the rec.
Winneconnie is good and oshkosh is all good. I launch 90% at my brother's across from skipper buds. No one is ever there and if you don't know anyone there with a dock you really can't launch there. Bfun and klennop do more winnebago boating them me. Once it turns green I'm done but i know from Appleton to oshkosh very good.

Welcome from St. Louis/table rock lake. Love the red and the 496! I bet that is a fun boat to drive!
