Hey all,

My stereo doesn't seem to be getting power. Any suggestions where to start. Checked fuse on back, hit reset, and even hooked up a spare radio. It was working last weekend.

Any advise would be appreciated.

This might be a stupid question but is your battery switch on?

This might be a stupid question but is your battery switch on?

It is all other accessories work.

Everything else is working. I don't think the amp is powering up either. Jeff where the power coming from that feeds the radio. Does it go from the ign switch to the power block or what fuse/circuit breaker or a breaker by the perko? The 12v cig/accessory plug in the glove box works also. This boat was the blue angel.

90% of the time it is usually something simple. Did your spare radio power up? If not, a wire became disconnected somewhere like the battery or ignition switch...or a loose ground wire could be the culprit. Do you have a simple electrical tester to see if you are receiving power to the head unit?

Just picked one up but the spare did not power up.

It's been awhile since I had ours pulled apart. The Amps have dedicated 12v feeds off the batteries, but the radio grabs 12v switched from a wire harness that runs behind the glove box. Assuming since you have traded out the radio for a known good one you have had the access panel in the storage compartment off. Is the wiring all original or did someone cut the factory harness and put in a new head unit?

That boat has the standard sound package, we have premium...not sure how much the wiring differs. Could you get me a pic of the harness that plugs into the head unit?

I will grab a picture in the morning. It was working fine on Saturday. I would say there has been some work done but I can't be for sure.

BBP my wife giving me a hard time...she said we never had radio problems with the Rinker.

Not to worry sir, the cobalt wiring is super easy, I just don't remember colors off the top of my head. I am getting a bit older, a pic will help my remembers.

She was kidding...she loves the boat. More annoyed I haven't sold the old boat.
