As you probably know, the rears seat lift and trim tabs are on the same hydraulic system and pump (at least on my '99 290). The O rings on my trim tab cylinders are leaking fluid, so it needs constant refilling or the rear seat won't lift, allowing m access to the engines.
The trim tabs are made by Bennett, and they have a new replacement cylinder that is electronically operated, not hydraulic. I'm thinking of making the switch, and advice from the forum?

Re: Hydraulics
I have not heard anything bad about the electric ones. Do they bolt right up?

Re: Hydraulics
That’s what we switched to in our 2005 263.....Bennett electric tabs. I’ve owned both. Electric tabs were installed this summer. Works great.boatdoc40 wrote: Wed Mar 28, 2018 6:33 pm As you probably know, the rears seat lift and trim tabs are on the same hydraulic system and pump (at least on my '99 290). Re: Hydraulics
Thanks for the info, gentlemen, I think I'm go electric as well; it seems to me that lifting that rear seat assembly is quite enough for the hydraulic pump.
Did either of you do the work yourself? If so, how hard was it? I have twin engines on the 290 and there is some room, but not a lot!
