I will be leaving Saturday unless Matt gets me plowed Friday night and I'm in no shape to drive Saturday. I have a buddy in Wichita KS. That when I was buying my boat he went to look at it for me and he actually drove it half way for me. So I might be headed his way to say hi again. But a brewery is not in my plans. Sounds fun but will have to skip that one.
Keep the ideas coming. We still need a place to hit up on Friday. We should see if the hotel has a shuttle van they can bring us to dinner and pick our drunk butts up.

UPDATE

I talked to Derek at the factory and got some additional information. One problem that cropped up is that Cobalt has made the decision to go to a four-day work week. That means that during our tour there will not be any production going on. He suggested we switch to a Monday or Tuesday and I told him that would be very difficult to do.

So, they will accommodate our tour with no problem. However he did request that I send him names of everyone attending. Send me a PM with your name and the names of anyone that may be coming with you. Wives, girlfriends, kids, husbands, dad's uncle's and brothers. They have also requested an accurate headcount but I told him that will change as time goes on and they're okay with that. Derek is the guy that was originally going to take Team Nauti around, but now will be taking us around. They may have to split our group into a couple of different tours but we'll see.
So, heres what we have so far..

Dec 13th
Arrive into Kansas City. The hotel is 30 or so miles from the airport. An Uber is appx $43. Double up!

Let's meet in the hotel lobby around 6 for hugs and kisses. We'll figure out how many vehicles we have and how to get everybody to the restaurant for dinner at Q39 BBQ at 7.

Dec 14th
Leave early for the tour at 10. They asked a couple of times what time we would be departing. I told him that we had the day on Friday so I don't know what they're planning. I don't know about lunch, if we're going to have something there or if we need to eat in town somewhere. That's still up in the air. Then Friday night its back to the hotel for lemonade. Some folks may need to head out Friday night. I will probably be one of them, and may leave to go south from the factory.

Dec 15th
Chris mentioned he is willing to put together a brewery tour if there's enough interest. He is also willing to arrange group transportation to the factory. I think one or two 15 passenger vans will be plenty but he said he may be able to get us a bus. We have time to talk about that and figure things out as we go.

When you call the hotel talk to Elizabeth in reservations. We have a block of rooms set aside at $123 for a king. It's slightly more for a double.

No way - sure no production is a bit of a downer - but you have BBQ and meeting everyone to look forward to. Plus if we give Katie enough lemonade we should be able to talk her into taking matters into her own hands and test driving a few boats in the test tank.

That sucks you guys won't get to see any of the action. I had someone that works at the factory do some gel coat repair on my boat back in early September. She had mentioned they were talking about going to 4 10hr days at the factory but didn't think it would actually happen.

Really I'm going to be A7 this time and think of the positive.
Ok no one around. This means we should be able to get up close and personal with the boats on the line. Where if they were working we have to stay out of there way. Plus it won't be as loud so we can hear what he says. Really if Derek doesn't get in a boat in the water tank there will be hell to pay. I'm going to be in the Nauti group and I guarantee you a boat will be fired up in that tank one way or another. We will have a plan. Katie get ready. Just like us we leave the keys in them and so do they.

I like that it will be ours and ours alone.

Sure you imagine some hulls being joined together, and exciting back round narration happing from Morgan Freeman. But it will be Awsome to be all ours.

Pass the lemonade to Katie and we’ll be in and on everything. Geeze I may want to finish up a project with BBP, or suprise some lucky customer with old school docking lights.

This is going to epic so no worries.

The rest of our agenda is truly what I’m looking forward to. Hey I’m not leaving until Saturday at noon so the Cobalt tour is just 1 activity amongst the others we will all share.
