How does the lift work? Just pump air into the pontoon looking things? How long does it take to lift and submerge?
Yep, I did the calculations and with the boat on the lift the pressure in the tanks is about 2 psi. Mine is quick about 2 minutes to lift, takes a little longer to launch as the pontoons drop more slowly as there is less air in the tanks all the time. About 5 minutes to launch.

On my setup.

Ha!!! 2 totally different animals. I like his boat also, but it doesn't have quite as much freeboard. He's a good guy.

It is amazing how much the hulls have changed. My 240 would be totally different from your 242. I tied up next to a 242 last summer and swam off to take a look. His boat towered over mine and the layout was completely different on the inside. I sure did like it though!

Great boat, lift, beach, weather... at least 8 more weeks of non-boating weather here. sigh.

Ytmsn wrote: Wed Jan 31, 2018 9:17 am I have a slip at our lake but my lift is old. For my old boat (prior to my 240) it was fine capacity-wise, but it needs new pins and bushings and its bent from some jakeleg putting to big of boat on it prior to me. I was putting my 240 on it every weekend, but launched and loaded every time because I don't trust it setting on there throughout the week. So I'm going to sell it or probably just give it to the marina.

Then along comes my 262. More weight and too long for my 25 foot slip, so I continued to launch and load every weekend and tie up to the dock last fall.

This winter the marina is supposed to be building 10 new slips and I'm getting one with a new lift.

@TableRockin, you can buy a specific weight ratio lift for whatever you need but I'm sure you already know that.
@ Thunder, if you look at used lifts be sure it will hold your boat up. Take into account your boat weight, full fuel weight as well as gear and people. My current lift is a 6,000 lb. unit and my new one will be at least 8,000 lbs., or maybe a 10,000 lb. just in case I ever move up to a twin 282 some day.

When I grow up I want to be like Matt...
Geeeze.. Im moved.. Im gushing.. Im your number 1 fan now.. hahahhaha

All the hoist talk has me remembering my many hoists and the excessive strain I did to them.

Rule of thumb . Bunks need to be exceeding the hull by an inch in the rear transom. (don't want to grow a hook in the hull ).

Run your boat low as you can on the bunks and most outdrive skegs need to be trim upped regardless.

And lastly, if you're wondering the capacity. Just do what I did going from my 18 fourwinns to a 230 sea ray.. (have about 6 people get on the boat while it's on the hoist and take a gander at the squat and or stability.

My current hoist Is a 12,000. More than I need but It's nice having the extra capacity and length.
Please tell me you do Airbnb at you house....I’d pay a lot for that view

Party on Matt's boat!! I think it's big enough to fit about 30 of us.

I'll bring the cherry Koolaide. Matt has the vodka to mix.

BB can bring the Cheetoes

AJ you bring those little mustard cucumber sandwiches cut into triangles. (Extra mustard)

Thunder you bring the ketchup and fries.

Tuscany can bring the hamburgers

And all the new guys bring fritoes and those little cheese crackers. That should do It. Thanks for the invite Matt! I always wanted to see the Delta.
