Only leaving house to go to doctor. Hope to be walking and retuning to work in July.
Boating season here is until mid October, so it may not be a lost season.
No pain at the gas pump and I'm lucky the wife works from home.

Pain at the pump won't affect us one bit. Will boat like we do every year.

Likely less competition for campsites when we camp which is a good thing!

Gas prices on the lake are significantly higher than last year but as a leisure craft and one for family and friends bonding time, it will not limit the amount of boating I'd like to do. Last year while still working "remotely" on the lake during covid, I put 170 hours on my then new R6 Surf. Was great to have my office outdoors and enjoying the best of the PNW. This year, the weather hasn't been as nice and I'm back in the office most days so those are limiting factors more than the rising gas prices. This weekend is looking fantastic however so planning to go out Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon!

Cruising on the R6 really hasn't consumed much gas. Many of the 170 hours went to wake surfing with full ballast tanks which doesn't take long to drain the 60 gallon tank.

First--speedy recovery to you Krob. What a lousy run of luck

We've been exploring our lake which is pretty sizable at 20+ miles long with a lot of tributaries. So far, the best cruise in the R3 is right at 23mph and that according to the gauge is 3.4gph.... Not terrible, but it does add up. Obviously if I push it up a bit, it goes up exponetially---for example, 27mph jumps to 7.4gph consumption according to the dash gauge.

I"m able to buy 87 ethanol free for 4.87 a gallon but I have to fill the cans and carry. It's still $75 and that's about 1/3 of a tank.

FYI, the boat does run fine on 87 as the manual states. Jumping to 90 adds almost $1.50/gallon and over $2/gallon more on the water. So far, it hasn't made a difference.

I contemplated running the 87 with ethanol but the recreational 91 no ethanol is only about $1 more a gallon here in MN. When I used to run the 87 with ethanol I never noticed any difference in performance but I noticed a huge difference in the way the boat ran the next spring after sitting for half a year! Even with treated gas it still ran like crap until I got some fresh gas in the tank. At least for now I am going to spend the extra for the good gas.
Something definitely needs to change though! It’s crazy to fill the truck and boat with gas for over $250! And that time the boat wasn’t even empty!! I don’t want to get political but there’s a saying I’ve heard about a Brandon...

I'm right there with you Snow-- At least I've eliminated the towing part. Still the pump would shut off way before the boat was full! I too stay away from the ethanol stuff--like you said it's ok but I wouldn't let it sit for even a few weeks..

Update on my pain....none at the pump as we've been staying home.
I got the cast off left my arm and I'm going to physical therapy. Still needs work, but I can do a lot more things with help.
Cast on left leg will hopefully come off June 29th on next visit. Still think I'll be able to get in a boating season, short but not unlike our Minnesota and Wisconsin as far as sunny warm days.

Update: back on crutches. Arm progressing nicely. Hopefully cast off and on walking boot tomorrow morning. I've got 5 pages of unread posts here to catch up on. Thanks to all for your prayers and well wishes.
