New steering wheel installed. Went with the same style I installed on our 232, but this time went with anodized bronze. It looks really good in person, goes well with the Cobalt interior colors:

Got the new popup ski pylon installed. It's about 14 inches above the original factory location, and hopefully won't drag the ski rope through the water. I picked the thickest part of the fiberglass, right under the nonskid on the swim platform. It's around 3/4" - 7/8" thick. From my research it seems like the rule of thumb for short ski pylons like this is fiberglass that is at least 1/2" thick. I may add a thick aluminum bar backing plate as well, not sure yet. Sealed off all the bare fiberglass with 3M 4200 and also the flange. You'll have to excuse all the dirt, need to clean the boat up again

Changed out the factory gas shocks to longer ones for the ski locker. Before the door opened up to around 45-50 degrees. Not it opens up to a full 90 degrees. Now I won't bump my head anymore. It's the little things that get me all excited

Oh man!!! I just received notification that it has shipped, should be arriving here in the next couple days. The new extended swim platform from swimplatforms.com!!!!
I can't wait to drill some holes into this 292's big rear end to make it even bigger!!
For anyone waiting to get a swim platform from swimplatforms.com, this is my second purchase from them and I can confidently tell you that they are professional, quick to turn around these mostly custom swim platforms, and they take the time to answer all of your questions. It is not common these days to come across companies as honest as they are. I highly recommend giving them a call if you're thinking about an extended swim platform for your boat.

Hehe... To be fair, the last swim platform I got from them for our 232 was packaged so extremely well with a custom built wooden crate and tons of packing material. I really think they're losing money on shipping/packaging, there's just no way that cost of labor + materials to package these is covered by what they charge.Big Block Power wrote: Tue Oct 27, 2020 6:16 pm Nice I thought they had free shipping on anything over $99![]()

Installed three Vico Marine Boat Vent 3's on our cover today. Put one on the front section and two in the rear section. I don't know why I never installed these before, wow!! Very easy to install. Will more than likely prolong the life of the covers. And these new Boat Vent 3's are very well designed.
Here's a video of the step by step installation:
