I did look at another option that I wouldn’t mind to hear opinions on. There is a 2013 Cobalt 296 with twin 430s with about 250 hours on the engines. Boat is immaculate. Owner ordered it the way he wanted and it has lots of upgrades. He is asking $125k and includes trailer. One issue with this boat is the wider beam would require me to buy a new lift and rent a slip close by as our dock wouldn’t accommodate the length and width of the boat. So I would have to take a one time hit for the lift and about $3,000-$3,500 for slip rental. So new R7 or a used ‘13 that is a little larger with twins. Curious to hear opinions. I can assure you my wife would rather have the R7.

Agreed. Stick with what fits at your dock. Cool boat, but R7 will still be impressive.

I got them to come up $7,500 on my trade. Left the purchase price of the boat the same. I was happy with that.

At least they weren't trying to make more off of you. $7500 more that's crazy. And they are still making that much off of you. I don't have a warm fuzzy with them. A grand sure but this much. They were trying to get you good. Ok I'm done. Glad they worked with you.

BBP, yes I think they were just a tad aggressive on trying to make too much. I stood my ground and I honestly think I could have gotten a little more but I wasn’t going to try and lose a deal just being stubborn.

What engine? There was a promotion in March that allowed you to go up an engine size (not including 430) for no extra cost. Not sure if that was extended or it’s ended. Unless you’ve selected the 430, you might want to check with the dealer.

Yea I hear you. If the deal is ok for you that's all that matters. But trying to hit you that hard will be hard to forget.
Bobrae this was a loaded stk unit with 430.

Honestly Dof3g, you got just over 27% off of the MSRP you listed. ($202k x 73% = $147k). Then they gave you an additional $7,500 for your trade from the original ask (almost another 4%). Overall I think all parties are happy and a fair deal was done.
As with any large purchase, buyers remorse will tend to rise up but in the end you will be very happy with this quality, fully loaded machine....especially the first time you’re driving your girls around the lake with HUGE smiles on all your faces.
Enjoy my friend. Great memories await.
