I’m still not buying into the idea that there is enough acid in the crankcase to do damage.

If there is acid in the oil the day you winterize then it was also there the last time you ran the boat.

My oil will be fresh in the spring having sat in a sealed container and not in the crankcase where it is more exposed to the environment.

Change your oil at winterization if you want, but I would also be changing it in spring.

I'm glad this discussion carried out as far as it did, got me searching for my own information. I'm going to change oil before winter storage.

We all have diff ideas and we all give out own opinions and you get to do what you want. Thats the cool thing. No buddy makes anyone do anything they don't want to.

I'm at a spot where I'm between oil changes. New motor had it's 20 hour service and then I ran it for another 10 or so hours until now. I wasn't going to get it changed, but now ya'll have me second guessing myself.

I wish my boat would fit in the garage. It would be nice to complete projects through the winter.

I looked at taking the tongue off of the trailer and trying to squeeze it in, but there would only be a couple of inches to spare, and it would block the man door entrance.
