I personally think people should read boat forums first before buying a boat and they would learn and tell people to put the phone Away. First thing I do is remove my wallet, my keys, and my phone. Because if I don't I know I'll jump in the water with 1 of them in my pockets. My first time boating buddy fell in the lake with his iPhone his first trip out walked off the swim platformin fry of ten people 😱 I said look and this is on his boat yesterday. All my things are right there safe and sound.
Yes design sucks. But for what a phone costs I'm finding it.

Item that is really popular in our area: Bog Bag. The large model stands up, holds lots of items, made of a material that you can hose down, comes in several colors, and has two snap out clear plastic bags in the inside. When we lock the car at the marina, my wife puts cell phones and keys in the larger Bog Bag inside pocket and zips it up. These bags are so popular here, that if you see one, you'd better buy it. Large was somewhere around $80 with Arkansas tax. They're very popular on the beach also.

$80 for a bag ...and they can’t keep them in stock! Wow. Does it say N95 on it?

This was only color in stock at Lacy's Marina in Greers Ferry, Arkansas.
Wife decided the blue didn't have to match exterior blue since inside of boat is brown or beigh.
Material is similar to Crocks.

My wife had the same thing happen. Tried everything, even had a skinny tech from the dealer try. She wanted a new phone anyway..:)

I think with some persistence you can retrieve a phone from under the co pilot seat. If all else fails you can locate it using one of those snake camera systems and then fashion a grabber tool to get it out.

It wasn't that much of a problem on ours, even though it fell on the inside hole.
Once that front panel in batter switch/trash compartment was removed, we got it.
