Ok then the problem is Heat because of the increased cylinder pressures, and the energy being stored in the intake.

Having a unlimited source of water is great as we’ve seen under blower super chillers and radiant exchangers used for years to help.

But boats are so hull in- efficient they lug and strain just to maintain speed. Which constantly puts them under boost all the time.

Unlike a car that is vacuum to boost in gauge range ...our lazy , pushing through the water hulls require a lot of throttle input to maintain speed. (425 hp and we only go 60 mph?? )

This is why there are not deemed “ fuel efficient “ by today’s standards and although the technology is here. I doubt it will be available by boat mfg in the general market for family boats.

There out there now. Twin engine small supercharged scarab jet ski boats etc. small hull etc . Or companies like Nordic, eliminator, DCB still build and rig for the “ Sport Boat” market with supercharged engines.

Hey I’m all about power, and could care less about economic boating. But like you guys we are small percentage of this thinking then the new boat owner when buying the Family Bowrider.

Not the people ordering a new outer limits or Skater with 1350s . And have the resources to go through the engines and drives every 100 hrs.

See it’s not so bad.

I think the Ecoboost is already water cooled turbos anyway. CC would likely be mandatory though to deal with exhaust heat. Noise should be low due to the turbos.

Almost all turbos are water cooled these days. Gone are the days of tapping oil pans running oil lines and turbo timers to keep oil flowing to the turbo when the car is shut off.

My wrx was water cooled I still seriously debated installing a turbo timer you know just to show off. Yes I was a dork.
