Inner fender walls protect the boat from rock chip and blow out damage, not to mention road tar, oil and any other crap your tires could sling up on the side.

Fenders are on. Here's some before and after shots. I have a lot more clearance now, should have done tandem style fenders to start with instead of the single style. Oh well. Still need to remove the center support from each side since it's no longer needed, didn't have a jack with me to take the weight off the center mount.

I don't think I have room for fender liners with the 9" wide fenders I bought. Would have had to go to the next size, 10 or 10.5" or whatever it is.

Just kidding. Ive had trailers both ways. with liners and without. Yes it can help keep the boat clean but I really never had a issue.

I like the look of the tandem fenders better. Given that the front and rear spring mounts are fixed, either axle can move toward the center if compressed far enough, but not towards the outside. So I don't think I'll have any more issues with clearance since there's tons of room in between now.

It is nice not having welded on fenders.

I miss the looks of a matching custom trailer, but the universal trailer has been awesome as far as flexibility and ease of changing parts. I love that part.

Just paint the trailer white or teal! You could have that done by tomorrow.

Hmm some updates.

I've had an issue with water intrusion in one of the 4 hubs on the trailer. Tried new inner seals and new outer cap twice with no luck. Finally got etrailer to send me a replacement hub. Installed Friday, dunked the trailer yesterday and the hub stayed dry. Yay! Trailer is going in salt water at the end of August, I really wanted this fixed before then. Water in hub is bad, salt water in hub is worse. They told me I could keep the old hub, so I put new bearings, races, and seal on it and now carry it as a spare.

I have a detail with a cut and buff scheduled for this coming Friday 8/3. Gel has started to oxidize a bit again, I'm pretty sure it's because my vinegar mix has taken all the wax off. So now I'm part of the Hot Sauce club, and going to try to wax the boat once a quarter. Will post before and after pics of the detail

I'm using the detail and the fact that I got my new registration stickers (Sept 3 will be a year since I bought the boat...holy cow!) as an excuse to fix the damn registration numbers that I put on without following the curve of the hull. They have been driving me nuts (you guys called it). So the old ones will get peeled off Thursday night, the guy can do the detail Friday, and new numbers will go on Friday afternoon. Thanks to the suggestions here, I ordered a ProMariner ProSport 12 amp 2 bank on board charger. I looked at the 20 amp unit, but 12 should be sufficient especially given that the battery tenders I'm currently using are 1.25 amp each, so the 12 amp will be 4 times faster than current.

And here's some pics from yesterday just for the hell of it. I never think my boat looks that big until it's sitting next to something like this. This a guy I met out at our local lake, he lives out at the RV park on the lake and is on the water 4 days a week. Really nice guy. I think it's a 19' Sea Ray Ski Ray. Go Team Teal!
I took a shot walking up the ramp too, it looks big compared to the other boats around too.

Well the detail was so-so, the guy got most of the oxidation and some of the surface scratches off, but missed a lot of stuff I was confident would come out. He also claimed that he washed the carpets, but I checked my cameras (he did it in my driveway) and he didn't wash them. So the detail was a bust. Oh well.

Got pics of the charger installed this morning. Also got the new numbers and registration decals put on a couple weeks ago. My OCD about straightness and alignment feels better now Before (orange sticker) and after (green sticker) comparisons below.

Man you are slacking. That's almost a month between posts in here. I like the orange ones better. Much straighter. They went with some of the curves just not sure where?

Replaced the dash lights with LEDs.

Also started on interior using white LED strip lights. Got the bow done before our San Diego trip, will finish the rest later. I'm loving the color difference between the old bulbs and the LEDs.

I replaced the nav and anchor lights too, hopefully can get a good pic in the next night or two.
