Is the B1 the same ratio as the b3? What are on your b3? Let's do a 30
The Enertia is a great prop. 25?use bblades exchange program? Call Brett.

I played with a prop chart it came up with a 21p but I don't put much faith in that.akorcovelos wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2020 7:36 pmNah, all my friends have Alphas, lol. This should be interesting to see what happens.
Drive shower for sure if you don't have it already. I recommend the Simrek
My 502 uses the Mirage plus 23P with the 1.50 ratio bravo 1
I saw you posting about a supercharger a while back. Any updates?

Already have a Simrek, so good there. How do you like the M+? What was your top speed?xlint89 wrote: Sun Oct 11, 2020 9:35 pm This should be interesting to see what happens.

Still researching the blower. I’m trying to find the best option that will fit under the hatch. If I do go blower it will likely be with carbs, way easier and cheaper to make good power.

Re: '96 252 454 Magnum performance benchmark
The Mirage plus is OK. Take off is lack luster (prob awful compared to your B3) but mid and top end is good. 62 MPH was best we saw on the GPS around 5200 RPM on the gauge. Right after that WOT run, my tach started acting funny though. So I cannot confirm we were at 5200 RPM
It's prob a good place to start prop testing your 454 mag though.
Superchargers make good power with low octane fuel. They tend to use a lot of fuel. I've read some people don't like the procharger because it needs to spool up. The roots type is instant, but expensive.
I'm having a hard time with the blower whine noise. My GF would be complaining.
If you're considering a blower, you'd need a more robust out drive than a bravo 1 most likely.

Nah, stock B1 is good to almost 600hp. Hydraulic steering will be a must though. I’m not worried about boost lag, if anything I’d prefer some just to help the longevity of the drive. Just research for now, I have a winter project.xlint89 wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2020 8:22 pm The Mirage plus is OK. Bought this drive knowing the upper gears were trashed. Upon disassembly I found chips all the way down into the lower, so I’m disassembling the lower and resealing it after a good cleaning. I’ll inspect the gears and see what the bearings look like and replace whatever needs it.

Re: '96 252 454 Magnum performance benchmark
Was that out drive owned by a stripper? I see all kinds of glitter inside it.
Most feel the bravo 1 is at it's limit around 500 HP. That's why they were pairing the 525 EFI with the bravo XR. A lot of people are running Bravo 1 with higher HP though. Most will say to be careful on the throttle if you want the out drive to survive. (no hard take offs and back off the throttle if the boat gets some air) just passing along what I've been reading.
I'm envious you can do out drive work. I have no clue, or tools for servicing that.

Re: '96 252 454 Magnum performance benchmark
Well for now I’m fine, pushing maybe 400hp. When the time comes I’ll find out pretty quick if I need an XR. I’ve seen a lot of people running 600+ hp saying the same about working the throttle to help the drive. I don’t really beat the drive anyway, no much wave jumping on the chain, lol.xlint89 wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 7:47 pm Was that out drive owned by a stripper? I see all kinds of glitter inside it.

I’ve never done an outdrive myself, but I’ve worked in gear engineering for nearly a decade and I’ve done a trans before. We’ll see!
