Georgeee, let’s try to make that happen. I’ll know more after my schedule firms up in February but who wouldn’t love to see thunder boat row in February. 🌞🌞🌞

I know. Like I said in in Vegas up to that date and I ran it past the wife already and it was a big No. Way to much going on that we don't know all of our plans yet. Next year we are in. Plus the falls is happening this year or next!!

There is also the other option of the Toronto boat show Jan 18-27.
Tossing that out there also. One very desireable, and then there’s the other.
In fairness, The Toronto show is huge.

What else was one big take away from this weekend was. All of the Cobalt employees were stoked to hear we were coming. They were like theirs a group of owners that all they do is talk about Cobalts!! They were as excited to see us as we were to see them and what they build. Every person we came in contact with went out of there way to be nice and talk to us. They were awesome. Hats off to Lance for what he did for Liquid!! I think it even brought tears to his eyes 😭😭😭
Who would have thought he would have that picture of the best boat every made πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

I wont lie I was a bit relieved when you said you were taking that print home for Liquid. I would have done it, but I would have felt terrible if anything had happened to it. I am not sure I am responsible enough to handle getting it to him safe.

Did I say I was shipping it to him πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
did you get a vid of Lance handing it to him?

You should try to make the cobalt regatta on table rock in July. Last year they had close to 100 Cobalt’s show up! It grows every year. They should be posting the dates soon. But it’s typically the last weekend in July
Might not work this year, got our LOTO trip last week of August. TRL is definitely on my list though!

Keep the pics coming!
Hate to start an argument, but I doubt they run them at WOT. The tank is only 3 - 4ft deep tops. We should have put BBP in and checked to see if he could touch the bottom to verify. There wouldnt be any water left in the tank after the first boat of the day was tested if they ran them wide open. Our guide said they ran them 30min with "everything on" and in gear. I would assume they throw it in FWD then in reserve to make sure the lower shifts ok then run it for 30min with all the possible options on to put some electrical load on the charging system. Either that or they run it at WOT without a prop on, but I seem to remember them mentioning they water test w/ props.

If you think about it these are new engines from Volvo - because there was not a Merc to be found in the house - they are not going to run them WOT for 30 min until they go through break in.

Regardless super small details - the attention to detail at cobalt is crazy - and its awesome they take the time to mount the lower to the engine and do all the tests they do. Great tour and great company all around!
I’ll throw my two bits in here. I have a copy of the 1996 model year catalog, and it has pics of those same tanks, and it says the boats are run 30 min at WOT.

Looks like it was an awesome trip!

I was thinking Rick told us the same thing. WOT for 30 minutes. I did the same thing A7 did, looked at what held them in and thought "hmm"

Rick was awesome. After the tour I'm standing in the gift shop and he comes up behind me, puts his arm around my shoulders and says "Hey, here are the instructions we used to send out to the dealers when they needed to remove the interior from a 262. I know you were asking questions about that, so here you go. I went back in the files and pulled this out for you." How cool is that? I'll be posting that soon!

I take it back A7 - we need to go back and see this happen in person. Hell Rick seemed like a nice guy we should email him and ask for video. I can see the look on his face when he saw the email pop up in his inbox "oh no not those guys again".

I remember asking Derek (our tour guide) this question and I thought he said WOT for 30 minutes. Any others on our tour remember this? πŸ€” I could be losing it. When he said this I specifically looked at the straps and tow eyes thinking they really need to hold this thing or else!.

On a side note, he also mentioned that when he is in the boat testing them in the tanks, sometimes as a joke they would turn the outdrive and trim it up fairly high to "shoot" water at the girls on the assembly line next to the tank dousing them with water.

.
Alex, our tour guide said they normally run them around 1300rpm .
