It's on your harmonic balancer. I think 3or4 little bolts hold it on. Don't over tighten them or they will break. There's also a little rubber stop that should go on the bracket. It likes to melt and turn to rubber mush.

Impeller is easier on volvo.. do them yearly
Outdrives are drained.. pressure checked. New orings.. do them yearly.
Find a certified volvo shop as they can differ from mercruiser.

Also what temps are your 8.1's running 140 160 or 170?

Good info.. my serial is 4012096964
But she runs 170.. maybe it's been updated ( plus it closed cooling?)

Mine runs 140 I need to change it. It was a interesting find one day I was playing around on the web.

I guess as long as oil temp gets to 170 it's fine?
Do miss that gauge along with .. yes Aslan.. water pressure..
