Believe me yes they can put older engines in but they have to disclose it. As new 2017 or what ever year it is. The serial number will follow it. Mercury keeps close tabs on it as well. After the issue gets done I'll tell you what happened. It also came from a very well known dealer.

I guess I just meant that engines don't change "model years" like cars and boats etc... engines change must less often than the vehicles they go into. So I guess I'm missing something? Unless there were a big engine design change all is is the same right? An engine is manuf in May or June for instance and can end up in a '17 or an '18 model year boat.

Hint a 2007 engine in a 2017 boat. May look the same in the old days but .

Cobalt sent me a couple photos of the inner and outer hulls in their molds last week. I thought it was cool to see, so I figured you guys might enjoy it as well.

They sent these last Friday, and plan to ship the boat by the middle of next week, so they have their work cut out for them.

Yes, it will be a 2018, and technically a CS2, since that is replacing the CS1 for 2018, with whatever they do for the 50th anniversary badging.

It still boggles my mind how/where we can justify the high prices for a chunk of fiberglass and an engine.

The 3.0L TDI diesel in our Touareg is $33k alone from Mercury marine. You can buy a low mileage Touareg for a similar price...
