Correct, my iPad Mini does not have built in GPS either. That's where the Bad Elf dongle comes in. It provides EXCELLENT GPS service, and after using it can say I would highly recommend it. YES on the anti-glare, that was so annoying last summer so I'll be ordering that now. The other issue I had with it mounted on the windshield was the iPad occasionally overheating and shutting down. Only an issue when sitting still for a while, like at the food boat or something, but still annoying as it takes a good 10-15min to get it cooled off and powered back up. I have a nice soft case for the iPad and it stays in the boats. Has a nice little side pocket as well (zippered), that the bad elf dongle and charge cable can live in. At the ramp or slip while waiting on my wife and kids to do their normal Potty stop, I have a couple mins to get out the iPad and get it setup and running before heading out for the day. I did put on an anti-glare overlay on the iPad and that helps a lot. Just used a cheapo one from amazon that was like $10 for three overlay sheets.
