Thanks A7! Just thinking, my boat is 26.8 without the swimdeck. My slip is 30 ft long, and although I have never measured it, when I back in and put the swim deck against the head pier, there's not much slip left at the bow, maybe 8 inches? If the A29 is 29 ft LOA there shouldn't be that much difference other than the width. Easy Peasy

I'm with A7 on the thrusters. I would love to engage thrusters.
Thrusters are cool as watching the big yachts park is fun.

We could add a fish & ski package to the A29? Trolling motor on the bow? Push button on the dash marked β€œ Bow damage prevention thruster β€œ.
Yep I’m on unsweetened ice tea today!

A pair of 240s would still allow the side entry low floor.
SeaRay would drop twin 4.3s in that baby in a second. They did that all the time.

only offering a single on the A29 kinda locks them into inland lake customers, not a great decision IMO. No way I'd go on the Great Lakes or Ocean/Gulf in a 29' boat with a single screw...

I'm guessing Cobalt is focusing their SC line on Ocean/Gulf boaters. Because those are outboards. I know if I was a salt water boater I would have outboards for sure. Still that being said the 30SC is the largest they go while Formula and all the other Manufactures offer larger boats with outboards. Maybe Cobalt doesn't do well in this market? I can't comment since it is not an area of my concern.

Obviously a trolling motor counts as a second screw.

I thought a 240 was a trolling motor. Didn't Volvo sub-contract Minn-Kota to build it?

So true liquid.

FWIW, bow thrusters seem to have been around for awhile now and are fairly mainstream on anything bigger than 29'. I'm surprised it hasn't filtered down to some of the smaller offerings being that it is not as cost prohibitive as it used to be.

Here’s some fun eye candy that came out today. I always enjoy the Haulover vids. This one predominantly features go-fast types going thru the inlet. In most cases, the bow thrusters can be seen peeking out underneath.
