Well as guessed.. The bow thruster is on the list.

I honestly don't love the design. I think it's going to look dated really fast, particularly the squared-off interior and trim details.

Love some of the options, though, like the bow thruster.

After watching all of the videos on the site, I can say it's a mixed bag for me. I think I really like the exterior graphics, but I can say that I hate that blue interior...I would have to see the other color options, but overall, if mono color was available, I'd choose that--to me that's vintage/classic Cobalt.

There are a lot of electronics/motorized parts that would scare me I think. I don't like the hard top, but I like the extended shade--but wonder about durability in a marine environment. Still not a fan of the sharp corners on the boat. AC at anchor is interesting. I looked at the Malibu site and to me, I see some influences on the seat shapes I think.

Did they put some serious thought into it, yes. Are there some interesting design features, yes. Some cool options, but not sure the options are equal or greater than the sum of the parts, which Cobalt has always been.

Good news is it has a 9ft beam, so I can't trailer it....better news is I can't afford it, so I don't loose sleep over it.

Anyone want to bet a quarter than this is what the new R series interior will look like in the future?

I saw that too cmattj. Surprised it's only an option and not a necessity at this length. Pity the fool who tries to dock this beast in a crosswind....without a bow thruster and everyone watching....including his suspiciously eyeing wife (Kate? ) riding in the bow of their new purchase.

On that topic, I would love to know what they went back and changed based on feedback from that initial sneak peak in Florida last year.

The biggest thing that changed is the dash. They had looked at an android based helm but got mixed reviews on it. Ended up going back with Garmin.

I don’t hate it (although I hate the brown seats in the brochure).

The boat seems like a perfect platform for some sort of intelligent vessel control - I think I’d include such with a bow thruster by default.

$257k, and it does look good without that horrible tower.

So I took the liberty of optioning out a R30 with twin 380's and joystick and an A29 optioned with all the stuff they show off in the videos. I'd say for the little extra money I would go for the R30. If you option with twin 300's the price is almost the exact same and would still be an easier ship to captain.
