So why didn't you make that boot stripe Auburn Orange or as we call it around here Dreamsicle !?!?!?!

Gorgeous boat...welcome again!
I certainly thought about it! However it would’ve been another 3-4 months of waiting. This one was about 100 miles away at a sister dealership. Also why I didn’t opt for the 380 HP (all of their R5s were 300s).

I’ve always liked the traditional blue and red on Cobalts. Im also smart enough to know that I would immediately exclude about 70% of the state of Alabama as potential buyers should I decide to upgrade in a few years. Had to have my blue though! Matches my other toy.

I know this name has been beaten to death but apropos in this situation......'Doc Holiday'
References one of my favorite movies and a pun on that fact that I’m on holiday...I like that too.

Cobalt is shipping my new ride on 3/21... It will make its way to Blue Creek with a possible pit stop at Rambo Marine in Chelsea/Westover. I have the same colors as the OP but on a CS22.. I fell in love with the CS22 at the boat show. So it is a White bottom, Navy Side, and Red bottom stripe. I thought hard about the orange color but feared I ever had to sell it, no Alabama fan would ever buy it. Also I love the classic USA look. My boat is coming with a white arch, navy top, transom remote for radio, flag, transom LED lights. Interior LED strip lighting, light under the swim platform, sea grass flooring cover. The interior color is Tera Brown. I am sticking with the standard stereo, the salesmen acted as if I wouldn’t want an upgrade. I currently keep my current boar at Harbor Pointe Marina. It is only 18.5’, so the CS 22 keeps me in the same spot (I just hope they can fit me in there with the folded down tower). My engine is the 240 Volvo with a duo prop. I hope this engine is a good fit for the boat. I will mainly use the boat for cruising and socializing and just relaxing. I will pull some folks if they want, but I don’t go crazy over water sports. I prefer to tie up, drink some beer and relax. Or beach it and let the dog run some. I can’t wait for it to get here. OP, let me know when you make your debut in the R5 at Martin.

Guys it will be great to hear how 2 guys that hijacked there own threads have a 300 and 240 in them and are wondering how they will perform. Everyone is so different on what they think is good or bad. So can't wait to hear from both of you in this thread in a few weeks and again in the end of the season.

I guess it’s not really hijacking if there’s really no topic to start with. Let’s just call it tangential discussions  . Honestly, for my needs/wants right now, I think the 300 will be fine. Aside from early morning glass, you seldom get the chance to really drop the hammer on Lake Martin and we’ll just be pulling tubes and an occasional skier. Mostly. We will mainly be cruising, swimming and enjoying our time on the water. In 3-5 years, when our kiddos are a little older, I foresee us having a tow boat. It’s going to be VERY interesting to see how the marriage of Malibu and Cobalt plays out. We almost sprung for a R5 Surf, but I held out because I think there may be a better offering in the not so distant future!

I keep mine at Harbor point also. Talk to lee about my old spot that I had my 220 in. It fit with tower up no problem. Had to get a new spot for the R5. Its is delivering there on Friday. Been waiting on stereo upgrade at Blue Creek but with the construction going on there they have not had a chance to work on it. Made 1st boat payment and have not even set foot on it yet! Driving me crazy!!

Nice looking JK build, looks like a lot of fun. I did the same color match with my toys. White Rubicon with black top and white R5 with black stripe. Beautiful Beautiful Cobalt too.

I spoke with Lee today in person. I told them they are going to have to do a better job when the new boat comes in. I am so sick and tired of seeing a black shoe foot print on the seats and they just rip the cover off in some half assed manner etc. The guys just sometimes don’t think or give a damn. When I called to have them summerize the boat, they took the cover off, summerized the boat, then put it back on the rack. Ask me if they put the cover back on. NOPE, then I get to the boat today and it has some oil or grease that dripped on it from the boat above. ARGH!!! If I gave it to them with the cover on it, why not put it back on? He said they will do better.

Glad I am not the only one that has been having this conversation with them! Drives me nuts when they leave dirty shoe prints on the seats getting in and out of a boat with a walk through transom!! Had a problem last year with a leak in the roof of the dry storage (mine was on top rack). Took a daily grip session of about 2 weeks for them to fix it. Left rust colored stain on my back pad. I feel your pain!
