Re: New puppy choice..
You guys are more than welcome. Let me know if what I’m saying isn’t clear or doesn’t make sense.
One more thing—really spend some time playing with the paws ears and especially toes. Get her used to having them handled. Much easier come nail trim time as they get older
Oh, btw...I’ve never really trained a dog. I’m making all of this up as I go!!! Just thought I’d share that. Lol

Lol.
The one thing I have always done to gain total trust is to carry my dogs in one arm belly up. Up stairs, down stairs, inside, outside so they feel completely secure with me and my handling. Ellie is already a wet noodle and has total trust.

Sailor, we’ve been following your instructions closely on potty training. Ten minutes after eating generates poop right on time, and usually every time. We take her out regularly on the hour if we’re home, and every two if she’s in the crate if we are not home.
No accidents.. fingers crossed.
Thanks again!

Re: New puppy choice..
Thanks awesome T! Absolutely fantastic. Don’t be surprised if she has a little set back in a month or so. It sometimes happens. It sounds like you are doing a great job with Ellie—-don’t forget to enjoy her along the way!Tuscany wrote: Wed Jun 12, 2019 7:03 pm Sailor, we’ve been following your instructions closely on potty training. Enjoying her is an understatement
.
She is just freaking awesome, and such a part of daily life now. All of us are thrilled beyond words. Loves my truck at such a young age!
So happy and goofy 24x7. Of course we’ll be having setbacks, and your knowledge has helped so much. Thanks again.
How is Mrs. Sailor doing?

It's dog owners like you Tuscany that make us dumb ole dog trainers/instructors look good.
The Mrs. is doing very well....just very frustrated since there's no real pain--hard to be inactive when you don't feel discomfort. Take the collar off and other than the incision site you wouldn't know surgery was recent. thank you for asking.

Arent they just the best!! Marzen is my work buddy at least a couple days a week. My offices love having a visitor and some are even buying him toys now! Spoiled! But he loves car rides too... Here he is sleeping between stops!Tuscany wrote: Thu Jun 13, 2019 11:47 am Enjoying her is an understatement.

Re: New puppy choice..
Nice! I work from a home office and there are 2 beds next to my desk. It's rare that they aren't both in here and most times, one forgoes the bed to be under the desk by my feet.
You guys have done so well with exposing them to sights and sounds early to get them socialized....you should feel great about the progress you're making.

Yeah, he’s crashed out
.
I’d say Marzen is right at home and comfortable in the car!.
As long as Ellie isn’t showing fear or being apprehensive about entering new places or seeing strange people, I’m taking her places. She went to the bank today and was squirming a little bit out of character. When we walked outside, we went for a quick stroll out back of the bank and across the lawn...out came the problem
and right back to that goofy demeanor!

That's awesome Tusc! Glad Ellie is bringing y'all a lot of joy!
Katie our little monkey dog loves to go for rides too! She starts freaking out if I ask her if she wants to go for a ride, and she loves the golf cart, mule or Ranger. The other night I said something about taking my motorcycle for a ride she freaked out because she heard the word ride.
And the water?
