Here's the wife's DD and our tow rig. 2017 GLE43 AMG. Twin turbo V6 and 4 corner air suspension. Plenty powerful and surprisingly stable for a relatively short wheelbase. My last tow rig was a 2011 CCSB Duramax Silverado, obviously a gas engine vehicle doesn't compare to a big diesel for towing but this thing surprised the hell out of me, especially given what I was used to towing with.

Wow!
We really do think alike.
My wife and I were looking at a similar tow vehicle.
Torn between GL550 or 63AMG. Great to hear she's working out for ya'.
We are concerned about the maintenance on the Merc's. They have a rough reputation by CR.
Keep us posted!
... and thanks again for the pic, Thunder. She's a beautiful rig

Thanks, we certainly enjoy it.
If the GLE does ok I'd imagine the GL would be even better since it's bigger. That GL63 would be sweet! TT V8...mmmmmmm yummy. I'm sure the GL550 is no slouch either
We've only got about 6000 miles on ours so far, haven't had any maintenance yet. I am spoiled by the included 5 year/40k mile maintenance on my BMW, was surprised to hear that Merc didn't do something like that too. We did have the option to buy a pre-paid maintenance package up front when we bought the GLE, but I view that like extended warranties...there was a bit of a discount but I'm not sure it was worth it to put up all that money up front. Only reason they offer packages like that is because they make money on them. I'll probably look into doing PMs on my own, like most everything else with cars I'm sure labor is the big part of the expense. May change my tone after the first one though depending on how well they sandwich everything in there

Man I'm really digging that blue boat! And as far a maintenance goes on a Mercedes, its not much more than what you expect on a Beemer.
I was told once that in Germany the mechanics can use what is supplied in the toolkit under the rear deck to fix anything on the car, and the hood hinges have a latch that lays the hood back on the windshield to get it out of the way. I don't know how true that is, but it makes a good story!
Just look at how easy it is to tighten a belt on a Beemer or Mercedes with a bolt tensioner. Easy Peasy. On a Ford or Chevy you have to pry the alternator out with a tire tool while cranking the bolt down...

Oh boy.
You've done it now Ytmsn.
I see BBP waiting in the wings ready to pounce. This could get ugly

My dealer rep sent me this yesterday! Fresh of the truck 6 weeks after ordering. Going to pick it up today, now all I need is the boat to put behind it. Custom ordered primarily to get the tow mirrors ($250 option) which you can't hardly find on a 150!

Wow. I'm not a truck guy but that is one good lookin' truck Sooner! I could certainly be swayed into driving that beauty.
Btw, are you going to add mud flaps?

Great looking truck, why the V8 and not the Ecoboost if you don't mind me asking?

Yes, on the mudflaps or maybe some type of towing mudflap that attaches to my hitch to protect the boat.
Funny thing Nauti is that it is a 3.5 eco or at least that is what my order printout shows. I noticed on the pic that the emblems are missing as well! I will see when I pic it up. This is my current ride (2015 with tow mirrors) and it is also a 3.5 eco. The emblems are missing as well but I removed them myself along with the 4x4 decal as I think it looks clean that way. My dealer knows that I don't like badging, especially dealership names, so maybe he removed them for me? It did make me curious and good catch as most people wouldn't have noticed they weren't missing!

I've never been a Ford guy but those new F150s are sharp! Both of your pics are beautiful trucks. The 2015 isn't that old, just trading up? Growing up my parents used to buy new every 3 years or so.

Super sharp!
I’m a Ford guy who occasionally buys a GM for a change up.
Love the 18’ front end changes. Subtle, but definitely different and a major upgrade in the looks category.
I’ll be going back to a Super Duty as soon as the 10 speed is released for the Powerstroke. The 19 SD will also see grille changes. I hope that it’s half as good as the new F-150. I’d be all over the F-150 diesel if I didn’t have to plow snow..
As far as the badges, maybe Ford changed it up. I doubt your dealer would have removed them before asking.
