I'm sure you saw the same post on Facebook I did. From what I understand cobalt wasn't super happy it was posted and asked it be taken down but it was a monsoon with a b3 on it. I'm sure the Pic is still out there.

That sucks. Rumor was Cobalt sent all the dealer techs to training on the new monsoon platform a few months ago and one of them snapped a pic of an engine on a stand with a lower attached.

It got posted to the cobalt boats facebook group, it was up for a day or so then I hear cobalt corporate politely asked it come down. It wasnt a great pic, but it for sure was a Bravo 3 and a Monsoon connected up.

What’s the big secret? Goodhue Marine had a R4 equipped with a Monsoon and Merc. B3 on display at the Boston boat show back in January.

So am I reading this correctly that the only options are 5.3 at 360HP or 6.2 at 430HP?

Probably makes sense vs offering 300/350 & 380/430.

I mentioned Ilmor earlier. Id be interested in taking a ride in a Formula with the 7.4 483HP setup from Ilmor. Curious how that motor would compare to a VP or Merc 430.

It makes no sense for VP to agree to use their drive. It would only cut into their market share. Merc on the other hand could welcome it. I am not sure the Merc power plant has gain the traction like the VP solution and getting their drive sold is just added revenue.

Odd is like going to the factory and taking pictures of the new R Series before it's released years ahead of time! 😂😂😂👍

All doing well! Thanks!
Mrs bbp and I just did a ride and drive in a r4 surf this last weekend! Nice boat but way under powered with a 300 in it.
