I think the bows of the R6 & R8 are the same. You gain the extra space aft of the captain's chair.
We have the R8 surf and the bow in the R8 is 6 inches longer than the bow in the R6.

I stand corrected!

I made my own filler for the R6 using 3/8 Starboard. I made a template out of carboard and cut the Starboard to fit. I may add a cushion also. I trimmed the front edge and back edge with split tygon-tubing. The Starboard stays in-place due to the friction from the seat cushions and tubing.

In my opinion, it is was a poor decision to remove the cushion from the design forcing the purchase of a bow filler set if one wants legs up on both sides. And, even with the factory option, it still doesn't look like the port side. I think the 6" increase in the footwell in front of the starboard bow seat (R8 vs R6) makes all of the difference. Putting someone in that seat (R6) with a size 9 shoe (foot) doesn't leave much room to move around. Oh well, nothing is perfect.

Purchased an R7 and had the option $ to buy the filler cushion for the starboard bow to complete the wrap around seating. We did purchase it and glad we did. Also had the option of bow filler cushion for a sun pad that we passed on. I think they should give you the option in the new R series as they did in the past !!

I have a 2022 Cobalt R6. I just ordered and received the bow filler cushions. They came in 3 storage bags. Each bag contained a cushion and a plastic base. It looks like the base should be screwed to the bottom of the cushion. The dealer I bought them from is clueless. Does anyone have the filler cushions ordered with the boat? If so is the plastic base attached to the cushion? Thanks is advance. I hope this makes sense.

Did you ever receive install instructions? I just received mine. No screws, directions, or pictures. And they are as you described.

Maybe use velcro strips to attach the cushions to the base? It's a bit strange that they don't come attached.

Does your R8 bow filler hand the locking bolts installed? Just wondering if I can use without those.
