I actually have one and repaired it. But I decided it wasn't worth producing any repair parts or kits for it commercially due to it's inherently fragile design. And there isn't just 'one thing' that fails inside of them. I've seen no less than 4 different distinct failure modes and 2 of them would require me to tool up for parts that would just break again the next time somebody grabs the mast.. so I would be giving out a lot of replacement parts on my dime. I have an entirely different design implementation concept around a retractable stern light that would be significantly more robust, but I don't know if it's worth investing in the tooling it would need.Big Block Power wrote: Sun Apr 24, 2022 7:37 pmYes they are cool. That is a shame. My boat did not come with the Powerlight, so I bought one a long time ago. I never installed it due to the iffy reliability, but when I have seen one work it is beyond cool.
Do you know who tried to bring back the Powerlight?

Agreed on your points. The failures are varied from one to the next. The design doesn't age well after 10+ years of service. I would really consider it a wear and tear item that needs to be replaced every few years.slideruleracer wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 3:56 pmI actually have one and repaired it.
