As for the survey..
2006 bought a 222.
2007 after an expensive trip to the Miami Boat show, ordered a 07 252. Best riding boat IMHO.
2011- 2018 no boats
2018 - bought a 1989 19BR
2019 - conned my Admiral (who is a Flight Attendant) after she arrived home from a 14 red eye day, to hoping on a plane and going to Minnesota. Bought a 2001 226. A fast hull in deed as everyone said it was.
** owned two Cobalts for 3 months, then got over ruled and sold the 89 19BR.
2021 - sold the 226 and bought a Marker One ML4.
2022 - have my eyes on a couple of pre 1989 classic’s …. Bidding my time to spring the purchase on her.
5 total, 2 at one time for a few months….

So, it's complicated. As a kid growing up my dad bought a new Cobalt 16 (1976 I think) and then quickly realized it was too small and traded for a Cobalt 18 a few months later. That boat was a tri-hull design and powered with a 225 OMC. It would easily hit 60 plus miles an hour. In fact, I still remember sitting in the bow during the test drive as the salesman opened up the throttle some 46 years ago. A few years later as the lake got busier and my mom less tolerant of being bounced around, my dad bought a Cobalt Condessa. He kept it for years before finally leaving the lake. Fast-foward 22 years and in 2011 I bought my first Cobalt from the same salesman that sold my dad all three of his Cobalts many years in the past. By now this college aged boat salesman turned major boat dealer / yacht club owner had acquired several marinas and owned one of top selling Cobalt dealers in the U.S. I am currently waiting for my second Cobalt (a 2023 R30) that I purchased from the same boat salesman/marina/yacht club owner to be built and delivered this fall.

My first one was a 1999 200 in 2012
I've had a total of 10 cobalts to get me to my current dream boat of must haves. Some I had less then a month.
The one boat that got me hooked was my 2004 200 my 2nd Cobalt. I Loved that boat but it was just a hair too small. Owned 2 at the same time multiple times.
First off EXCELLENT idea for a thread.
But it kinda made think about a college girlfriend asking me for my "number"
And if you replaced the words Cobalt or boat with Girlfriend in BPPs response above ........
Especially the 2 at a time comment!

As far as the first question is concerned, I'm in last place. First Cobalt is probably last Cobalt. I will leave it to my daughter when I'm gone.

I bought a 2001 190 in 2006 and sold it in 2019. Then bought my current R5 Surf. So that makes 16 years of consecutive cobalt ownership. When I went to the boat show this spring nothing ever tempted me, especially after seeing the price of new boats.

Am I the winner so far?
Original owner, 1995 Cobalt 200BR with 5.0FiDP. Waited for fuel injection before moving to the Cobalt. As with previous boats, it has never been left uncovered overnight, so original carpet and upholstery is still as-new. Third generation of drivers now, with 3 grandkids always clamoring for "boat ride"!
Followed up 15 year ownership of a SeaRay 195, which was also a very high quality boat built by what was then a family owned company. Bought that one new for $9,800 and sold for $9,500.

I think you are the current leader at 27 years in Category 1 - Longest ownership of your current Cobalt.
I would update the current leaders in my original post, but the edit feature doesn’t work?

Wondering if the rumors of Pack St. Clair popping in every once in a while are true
Titanium, once your post has been up for a bit (half an hour or something, I think), it's locked and can't be changed, primarily so that we don't lose content and so that subsequent posts make sense in the context of what was posted before. If you want to post an update, send me a PM and I'll amend the original post.

I had other boats before coming home to Cobalt....
1979 Cigarette 33', 2005-2009
1999 293, 2009 to 2017
2006 343, 2017 to 2020
2005 360, 2020 to present
Got into Cobalts as we needed something with a few more creature comforts than the old Cig provided. Kept the 293 for almost 8 years. Went shopping for a 360, but stumbled across a 2006 343 with 525's that the guy was eager to sell. Why not! Was a fun couple years! But decided its purpose was point A to point B as fast as you desired, but other than that it wasn't a great "cove" boat. Continued to scour the inter-webs for a 360 and looked at several across the country. Ended up finding a cherry right in our backyard (LOTO home lake).

Very cool HS.
Any pics of the 33 Cig? Big fan of Walters, Wynne & Aronow designed hulls.

After reading this thread, I'm surprised that I may be in second place. I bought my '98 202CS new in '97. Never saw a reason to change. Went skiing yesterday. Here's a couple pics from a week ago.
