Well I did end up purchasing it. I pick it up on Saturday! I am excited and nervous. We found that the overheating was due to an impeller. Now it is time to get her all shiny and take a closer look at that engine. At that price it was too beautiful to pass up. I will post pictures when I get her home.
Congratulations and best of luck. Break Out Another Thou$and.

Hey thunderfli. So glad you found us!
Are you a Cobalt owner?…. Would love to see pics.
And welcome aboard mate!
Thank you! Family had a place at Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees for years - many years ago. We had an 80s 19’ Cobalt, then a 17’ Cobalt. Skip ahead 35 years and my wife and I are jumping back into the lake life. Still at Grand. Just bought a 2021 Cobalt R30 with twin 380s. The dealer is trailering from TX to OK in a week or so - just waiting for the lift to be installed.
Thanks again for the welcome. I look forward to being part of the community!

Congratulations on the purchase! My 2011 276 is still going strong and looks almost as good as the day I bought her. Many great memories on that boat. Enjoy!

I wanted to give a little update on the boat! I was worried the overheating of the motor was due to the manifolds. And these manifolds are almost $4000 each. I have the catalyzed manifolds. I took them off and they have almost no rust. I took them to a local Volvo shop and they said as long as I keep the boat in fresh water I should never need to replace them. I tracked the problem to the two manifold thermostats. They were gritty and didn't want to open. I cleaned them out and now it runs nice and cool. I also found someone in Michigan that sells fuel pump assemblies with the paint removed. The price was under $500. That will fix the whine from the engine compartment. Now I have an 2012 276 with 101 hours that I paid $52000. I am just giddy.
I am also looking for rust in the engine compartment. The only rust I see is on the front engine mount bolts. Everything seems to be rust free. Is there anything I should take a second look at for salt water damage? I would rather replace something now before it becomes a problem.

Giddy=good.
Hope this feeling continues.
