I know this is an older post , But I too was looking for this answer. On 15”rubber, with tower removed, I am at 93” to windshield. So it will go in an 8’ door x 9’ door it your willing to pull the tower off.
With tower folded, my comfortable height is 124” (leaves 2” for clearance
With tower up, I need a full 13’ to clear.
I am reframing my garage door at my warehouse for a 10’9” door x 12’ wide. I have 20’ ceiling height once inside the door. My only issue is upgrade room. I have 29’10” length. And my r3 on trailer sits at 27’6” tongue to platform/outdrive.
I am hoping the new R6 will be under 30’ with a swing tongue. Anyone have length spec on their r7 on a trailer with swing tongue (assuming you can even use a swing tongue safely on that heavy of setup).

Can you put in a 14 ft door in right away. I guess that's what I would do if I could. Boy you are going to be close going to your next boat. R4 or R6 maybe Bob has the length of the new r6 he got the secret squirrel email from Cobalt.
Man this is going to be close. Plus depending on the trailer company each one will be diff on the swing away also. Go with load master and they will custom fit it to your garage we can add a lean-to to the back of your warehouse. I'm in!!

Face of my commercial building would not be aesthetically pleasing with a 14’ door. I agree normally and would just go to the biggest legal towing limit height, but cant sacrifice what the rest of the building looks like.
Its a block building, so lean-too will be pricey.

Sounds like we are building new warehouse. Lol
I'll help with the plans!!
I'll have to take a picture of my neighbors house. She has a motor home that I haven't seen it in 10 years come out of her garage.

The R6 is the LOA as the R5, it’s just 600 lbs heavier. I’m told it will fir on the same trailer as the R5 with some bunk adjustments.

We spoke to our local dealer yesterday. Got bored and decided to do some window shopping. They couldn't tell us much but did say it was going to be around 525lbs heavier. Wonder if the 75lbs is the difference between the base engine and the 380hp engine your dealer knows you want?

Just for curious folk as this has came up in other threads. And as stated every trailer mfg will have a different ride height.

So we have a R5 and a R7 surf on SBT trailers. Both get put away with arches up and Biminis out.
Shop door is 12 feet 2”. R7 surf clears by 1.08888 inches🤣. R5 clears by 4”
This is exactly how we put them away. Oh the 282 actually clears by 8”

But Matt how much will the R6 fit by? It is the same length as a R5 and about 575.8865 lbs. More
Plus if you go with a 8.2 merc now the engine weighs more and there for it will squish the tires a centimeter or so. So another reason to get a BB in this case.

So a 12 ft door sounds prefect. Let's crack those concrete blocks and get this done. That won't hurt the looks of your building. It will only help it. See easy. If all else fails and it still didn't fit add a air compressor so we can let the air out of the tires and fill them back up. All good have you anther couple of inches. Boom.

I tried to PM you (twice), but they seem to be stuck in my outbox. The LOA of the R6 is the same as the R5. The R6 dry weight will be 5,800 lbs vs 4,880 lbs for the R5. I suspect this has to do with the hull weight increase (600 lbs) plus the additional standard equipment on the R6.

The bridge height w/o bimini will be lower (61" vs 64") but with tower will be 100" vs 98". I don't know what the fold down height will be with the tower.

Maybe if you are using the same trailer, with the above information you can figure out whether you'll need more or less door height to clear the opening with the R6.

Bob the pm isn't stuck. He just didn't read it yet. When he reads it then it goes to your outbox sent.
Well so all of the engines weigh the same? That will Make a diff. Holding tanks will make a diff. All the extra gear will make a diff. How wide is it Bob? What is the draft? What about the draft? How wide is the cockpit area? How many gallons of has will it hold?

You don't have to raise the door, just lower the floor. A pair of trenches in the floor for the tire to roll in, helps center the boat in the door while backing in! :D

Thanks for explaining the pm for me. I don't have all of the answers (above) for you. As to the weight differences with engines, I assume that the boat weight on the R5 and R6 are both quoted with standard equipment and the base engine. I don't think it matters how much gas it will hold as the Cobalt website shows the "dry weight" and I assume the new spec sheet does the same.
