Out of curiosity, has anyone actually done any temperature tests where they put a temp sensor on the drive and run it for an hour to see what it really runs at?
I'm just saying.
Go to simrek website they have that info.
.
Bravo III's run the hottest (270+ degrees) in comparison to their (Merc) other drives. Here is the
Simrek FAQ site to help in deciding.

I might add it later. I have some temp sensors that I can measure the temp with.

Sweet. Good stuff. Love what you’ve done. I wish I was mechanically inclined like this.

Is this specific to your unit? My f150 works my unit just fine.

Random question. I’m curious why your boat has the WSS ( wake surf series) designation on the side. I first saw that then noticed it wasn’t forward drive and it threw me off.

Prior to 2018 you could get the WSS badging on a standard stern drive. It was an appearance package. 2018+ it is surf models only

Do you have electric over hydraulic brakes? What I found is that this particular EOH draws over 20A and the 18 AWG wire at the 7 pin connector drops the voltage down to 9.5V while the brakes are applied. It would work about half the time and not very well. Now it works perfectly.
My previous 1999 Silverado didn't have a problem.
This shows what the wire sizes look like at the 7 pin connector. This is a piece of 16 AWG wire I am holding as a comparison.

I showed some pics to the previous owner. His wife was "what is he doing to the boat"?

Yeah...not sure. I know the tower comes with it standard and maybe a few other things but I sure don't know. I know the Nada is a little higher on the WSS for some reason for this model 2017 year.

Next thing on the agenda today is to do a baseline compression test.
BTW, in case nobody suspected this, I am retired!!

It might work better than mine. Ever measured the voltage at the EOH unit while it was pumping? What year F-150 do you have?
I looked up your unit...requires a 30A circuit.

Well....dad was an electrical engineer. Then I became one. Even when I was in my teens, my dad taught me how to do tune up on cars and the boat. When we would go on trips, I would be the one that would get the vehicle and boat ready. Have always done all my own maintenance. I used to buy and sell cars during college. Then when I graduated, my brother took over and became a licensed auto dealer.
When I bought my first car and the clutch went out, one of my Christmas presents was a book on how to replace a clutch!
I always learned how to do things. I have a commercial sewing machine that I have made boat covers with(My mom taught me how to sew). When I built my house(I acted as the general contractor), I wanted wrought iron fencing so I took a class on welding at the junior college. I have a MIG, and TIG welder along with a plasma cutter.
You should see my garage! A lot of tools!
