I wouldn't even use that. Lol

I used the mercury marine racing oil filter on my merc. I figured If it was good enough for their race engines it's good enough foe mine. Same with kendall oil 😂😂😂
Yeah..wonder who makes the Mercury filters. Could easily be Wix!

It used to be. Was also Champion Labs at one point...also from the horses mouth. Champion labs makes K&N Mobil 1...and Walmart oil filters. They change suppliers over time.

The good thing...WAY less critical in a marine environment...not much dust.

Edit: I guess champion labs is owned by the same parent company as Fram now.

I use the Fram HP-1 oil filters in my race cars-We always cut them open and look for metal shavings. Once you have cut apart a few different brands-The Fram was heads and shoulders above the others. We also have used an Oberg flat filter system that you open and inspect and clean the screen and reuse. We ask these old vintage race motors to do things they were never designed for! (My Austin Healey Sprite came with 43 HP..It now makes 139 on the dyno and runs 7-7500 rpm-with a 15-1 compression ration for good measure!)
