I called german brother to inquire about pick up, winterizing, storage, summerizing etc. $3000 thats highway robbery! I do it myself and store at a local heated building for $800 total. German brothers also has been blowing my uncle off for weeks. He wants to order a brand new cobalt and they will not return his phone call. Im glad to hear your experience is going well with them.

Similarly, I am looking at purchasing the CS22 or 220S. Is one better for choppy water? We would be boating on Oneida, Skaneateles, 4th lake, maybe Ontario? Thanks for the guidance!

The kids like the sun pad on the 220S. I haven’t shows them the CS22 yet.

I have heard but cannot confirm that the CS models have a slightly taller freeboard so should be less spray. 220S supposedly runs flatter and the CS have more bow rise. The CS22 is the lightest and the CS23 and 220S both weigh 3700 pounds (I assume with base motor and no fuel). Heavier boat should be more stable. If venturing onto Lake Ontario I would at a minimum want an R3. Choppy water > R3; if not my guess would be a CS23. Best to ask a dealer.

Thanks. Ontario might be once a year. Mainly more local.

Hey AbH. Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!

Some great options from which to choose. All are nice boats for those lakes although a little higher freeboard and sharper deadrise would be preferable...especially on Ontario. I guess the main question is what does your wife value the most? Obviously the kids value a sun pad. I’m guessing water-sports will be in your future as well.

Is a test ride an option for ya’? Maybe the closest dealer can help you out with that....or a friend with a 220. :P

Again welcome aboard mate!
