R4 Release

I ordered my R4 in October, supposed to start in production in February. I loaded it with the 430HP. I took the demo for a spin, on plane quick and hit 57 with 4 adults on a smooth lake. We are mostly at the sand bar, idling around the shoreline, and cruising 30mph, but when you do go WOT for a minute why not be able to go as fast as you can? And when you have a boat load on a fun day, you need all the HP available believe me!

What engine did the demo R4 have in it?

Here is the power chart to reference the difference between the 300/350. Identical curves until 4600 rpm. MSRP difference between the two is just over 7k, plus fuel burn. Majority of surfing/cruising will be in that 3000-3500 power band. Hard to justify other than future resale from a buyer that thinks the 350 is a broader curve across the entire power band.

My 276 purrs at 3000 rpm and provide ample speed at that rpm. Powered with a 375 hp VP it provides ample power and top end for our use. I get the more is better thinking but with gas prices (on the lake especially) what they are and the rare occasion that I drive the boat over 40, I think that you will be more than happy with the 300.
