Getting up or staying up is not the issue. Not saying that my technique can’t be improved but that’s not the issue. Very simply said...I know people that add weights to their boats to make the wave bigger and longer. I was just curious if anybody had done this to their cobalt R# Surf. As somebody said above, when I have more people on the boat the wave is better.
I love my R7 surf!!! But let’s face it...it is not the best wave... But I did not buy it looking for the best wave either. There is a surf expert at my dealer I plan on talking to. I will let you know what I end up doing and how it works.
Dealer is a great place to start.

100% agree here! LOVE my R7 and to those talking about technique you are correct. I think (know) with better technique the R7 wave would work fine. But I am also usually the one driving not riding, and we often bring inexperienced people down on the boat. So any crutches to allow for those with less experience to have an easier time for a weekend is great to me.
I ordered the swell and I should have it for this weekend so I will try to get some before and after pics of the wave and feedback on if it makes it any easier or not.

I added 10 - 50 lbs (500 lbs total) lead wake bags 500 yesterday. No where are you was substantially larger. Almost too big! I highly recommend this to anybody else trying to get a bigger wave.

Hey guys just following up on this thread. We have an R7 surf, I’m 6’2” and 265 lbs... I can surf with out the rope with just my wife in the boat and the stock wave. Not trying to brag (well maybe a little

but just letting you know it’s possible. I do have to stay right in the pocket or the sweet spot. We added a 400 lb fat sac and now I can move around the wave a bunch. Really really fun. Just was wondering if those of you who purchased the swell had any success with it and if you thought it was worth it. We love our fat sac and it worked as advertised.

Bob , some states have different regulations if you have an “ approved “ rear view mirror.
Missouri is one of those States.
When you bring your new Surf to Table Rock next year we will all ride with you anyway so no worries!

Bob it's legal to surf or any other water sports here with just the driver and a mirror. In most states. Not sure if its all states?

Thanks, learn something new every day. In Canada, you need a spotter.

Yes we have the mirror. I guess It is risky though, If I piss her off she could just leave me in the middle of lake without any witnesses

Or more ice chests loaded with beverage and lots of friends! More weight helps the R7's wake tremendously!
