The lights are offset, so I could remove the Y fitting and just use one of the offset Diablo Royale lights if I think that would be better, safer. Right now, I'm leaving both lights and the Y fitting in.

Yes....be careful with that. We hit a submerged something last week (some type of wood) and it went way up into our pitot tube on the outdrive. Had to dig (actually drill) fairly deep to get it out. Heard it hit the bottom of the hull and then the outdrive cruising at about 35mph. It would have torn that LED light right off. Fortunately ours does not hang down. One in a million shot doc. 8-)

Thank you BBP! No Cupholder LED's yet. I do have Blue LED interior bulbs and Blue LED engine compartment bulbs. I did buy Wetsounds LED Strip lighting, but I have not installed any of that yet. I was thinking about installing the Wetsounds LED strip lighting above the cupholdes, not sure yet.

Ok I'll give you half a pass just for the thought you put in 👍

Old thread here, but firstly that is a clean install!

Second, I'm wondering if your JL Audio M6 IB sub caused any rattle in the console, hull, etc.

I've also got a 2008 Cobalt 222, and the only part of my sound system I have to complete is the sub. I'm back and forth between an infinite baffle style setup versus a sealed enclosure in one of the bow storage areas.

My current setup is as follows. The only parts I kept from the previous owner's setup are the Kicker 6.5" speakers. I installed a Garmin Fusion head unit, JL Audio M6 8.8" tower speakers, JL Audio M400/4 for tower speakers, Wet Sounds HTX-6 for Kicker components, and all new marine grade speaker wire.

I have a Sundown Audio E-10 v.3 D4 10" sub (w/ ported box) on my other boat. For testing purposes, I installed this sub in the port-side front storage of the Cobalt with a JL Audio M200/2. It sounds great, but it rattles a lot - both in the console and the side of the hull. I'm just not sure how much of this rattle is from that being a ported box and how much would rattle even with a sealed box or IB setup.

Thanks for any information and direction. And again, great job on your setup!

I'd see if the box rattles on its own first - run it sitting on a cushioned seat or something. If it's not the box or something mounted to it, I'd look at the installation - is there any place that isn't rock solid or isn't damped? Maybe use some type of gasket (or even a cloth) between the enclosure and the boat to make sure it's not the install. I think you'll probably get better sound using a box than an infinite baffle install, but the infinite baffle is quick and easy relatively speaking which is why you typically see higher Qts specs for marine subs.

Not sure how you're exposing the speaker and port to free air with the box installed in the storage space, but a photo might help understand what you're working with.
