Let's see that Hobie Cat!
Congratulations on the boat...s. Plural.
I don't have any photos of the Hobie, but it is a Hobie Getaway 16'.
Frankly, I am intimidated by this boat.

0 boats to 4 boats and a lake house! Holy Cow! I want to to do that! I'm pretty new here too but find it very helpful. Congrats NiCad and welcome from LA!

Forgot to mention there is a canoe and paddle boat thrown in, so make that 6 boats. (I hate paddle boats)
I think that will be sold for a Kayak. That is the one paddle vehicle I want. Thanks All for the welcome.

I love paddle boats. Used to have one. A Clockwork Orange - guess what color it was.

As you should be! Sailing is a learned discipline. A lot of muscle memory. Learn the water and the wind in your area before venturing out too far.
Cat's are awesome boats once your comfortable.

The fleet just got bigger, as a friend (the one with the Springbok) is cutting me a sweet deal on a pair of Kayaks, as he has 6 of them. Getting a 14 and 16 footer. The Mfg is Old Town, the model is Cayuga. Gone from 0-8 watercraft in the space of a week. What a jungle!! Going to probably sell the canoe and paddle boat.
Will be buying the Cobalt tomorrow at 1PM. I'll post some nice shots of it afterwards. .
Thanks for the sailing Tip Liquid. My first order of business is learning Kayak self rescue techniques.
One thing I already do have is a water ski, I bought a Radar P6 last year because I do an annual weekend with College friends since the mid 80's that involves water skiing. I forgot to mention a couple of years ago I did buy a boat that we ended up giving to the host of our waterski weekend, as his (That had been in the family since 1964) had rotted out it's transom. I bought this boat for him. Motor , trailer, and Evinrude outboard in perfect shape for $750 USD. It is the identical boat that his family had. A 1959 Larson All America with original paint and interior. I love this boat. We put a modern Merc outboard on it. I'll post some photos of this boat if anyone wants to see it. It is a Classic.

Very cool. Old town is very popular here.

You win the 'most toys' competition. Hands down!
Cool story about the Larson, and a great gesture as a friend.
If you are looking for kayak lessons, there is a guy in Leaside that is an absolute expert. He runs a shop called Kayaksport. You can find him online at kayaksport.net.

Colin can you post yours yet? I can't wait anymore. Where's your thread?

Here's the Larson All American. It is identical to the boat my friend has had since childhood. He is now nipping 60.

The proud new owner and the gang that surprised him with it.
Quite a boat for $750. It is a Joy to drive up on Trout Lake in North Bay. It has avoided UV exposure it's whole life as it was in a barn between short stints in the water. A bit of thread drift here.

That is awesome. Nice job. Exactly the kind of thing that life is all about IMO.
That pic belongs in the "My first Love" thread as well.
