Akor - I agree with that! I know they've got the new small blocks dialed in now to make good power and there are several very sharp ones at our marina that folks are very proud of...but the look on their faces when they realize they can't quite keep up...priceless! That seems like pretty good numbers to me with that much boat and a B3! I'm trying to distract myself this summer with cosmetic, electronic, and functional updates because all I really want to do is start building up the engine. Patience, Padawan...
I didn't realize the red/white club was so high profile and exclusive...Might have to make t-shirts...
Also, where in Antioch are you? I lived in Trevor, WI for about a year of my 5 in the greater Chi metro (other years split between Arlington Heights and Oak Park). Might have to drag the beast out to the Chain or meet you at the River sometime, Dubuque would be about halfway.
Ha, we’re right off Trevor Rd and North Ave. on Channel Lake. I take Hwy C to work every day.
Yeah I’m in on a midwestern CC meet up.

That's awesome, Akor. We were apparently neighbors once upon a time! I rented a house for a while on C from the folks that own Fire Pit on Antioch Rd. Stop in and tell Brenda her favorite Iowan sent you her way and you'll either get a free beer or charged double!
So, yesterday was a good day. Boat came home from storage, fancy new Gussi wheel got delivered, the temp exceeded the forecast by about 15 degrees, and the downpour we were supposed to have missed us. I'm a little embarrassed by how filthy I put her away last fall, but in remembering the 8" of snow that smacked us last October and forced a quick winterization I don't feel so bad. Plus I hear a little scrubbing is good for the soul....
Ok, a few pics! Engine compartment shot for Aslan, before/after new steering wheel, before/after scrubbing the first layer of filth off the transom. Going to need to do a little buff/wax at some point, but one thing at a time...

So you can buy the wheel with th floating Coblt insert from Gussi? If so, I am interested in that. That is a cool feature I wish they had kept on the newer boats.

I agree. Yes when ordering just tell them you want it.

I think it really does update the look well and the self leveling is just cool. I snagged it off eBay from the username "flooringamerica", just included the note for the Cobalt logo. I was skeptical but it's definitely quite nice.

Ha, yeah we go to Fire Pit all the time, right around the corner from our neighborhood so we have our HOA board meeting there sometimes, and the Friday Fish Boil is the best in the Midwest!

Interestingly enough I’m close to route 45 and 173.

Small world! I’m back where North Ave dead ends in the woods. So you’re over by the RV dealer?

Nope. Antioch. Lake Delavan is the boats home.

In your profile settings you can put what state your in and what boat and other things you want to add to your signature. It helps others as well as me.

That's awesome, small world indeed! Akor, you'll have to give them the business from me if you run into Nate or Brenda. They treated me awfully well while I was up there, and I was lucky enough to be around when they were reviving their weekly fish boil. Helped with a little setup and got educated on the intricacies of boiling fish in a kettle over open fire....pretty awesome stuff. I spent all my time on Silver Lake in the summer and Wilmot Mtn (mountain..haha) in the winter. I was working in Chicago and Milwaukee at the time and that area is a great little country oasis with easy access to two metro areas.
