This thing was straightforward to install with good directions. Found broken shift cable retainer. New Seastar cable, I measured to the inch! (how often does that happen?). One of you guys is gonna notice I still still need to zip tie the the wires. I may or may not get to that.....Jwill wrote: Sat Apr 20, 2019 12:33 pm That’s a nice looking controller, I’ll be interested to see how that works/lines up. Keep us posted

Bought this here: https://leadersrpmshop.com/volvo-penta- ... -22928971/
Old cable shift cable retainer broke at the controller. Install involved cutting larger hole for new controller. New shift cable install went surprisingly easy, without attaching leader line to old cable. Just pulled the old one out and fed the new one through the transom. Measured correct shift cable at 17ft . Used universal cable from Seastar. Job took me 3 hrs, a professional could have done it 1/2 the time. Well worth it for me, looks great, Merc shifter was missing trim button, and needed new cable. If your's works and looks ok, you might want leave it, it appears Merc setup was OEM in '95. Otherwise, $389 and some quality time on your back. I had some trouble with the wiring, my trusted mechanic had it wired correctly in 1/2 hr......

So...I’m having trouble selling my 220 and the only feedback I’m getting is that “the control doesn’t match the drive”. It’s the Merc 3000 control just like 95 had and replaced in this thread.
Do I spend the money on replacing the control to a new Volvo Penta, or wait it out and continue to drop my price? Had a guy agree on $9500 after looking over the boat today after driving 5 hours then walk away after contemplating the controls.
What do I do?

Change them. It would bother me as well. They are giving you the feedback why they aren't buying it. So solve that issue.
