This is very true. I actually lied earlier by saying my wife and I are 27..... I am 27, but my wife is turning 30 in two weeks. I am buying this boat for "her birthday". (Don't ask me how I pulled that off). With that being said the reason we went with the smaller motor was they had it in stock, and came off of the MSRP by a little over 33%. So at the end of the day, it was just too good of a deal to pass up.

Last boat I ran a 4.3 in was a 180 crownline. Yes I know these are diff engines. The 4.3 205 hp engine I think it was was a great little engine. 22ft boat is alot of boat for a v6. That's just me. Again my 350mag I didn't like in my 200. But the 5.7 Volvo did and does just fine in a 220. Guys prove me wrong. Please.

What drives me crazy is the lack of info on the performance of Cobalt boats. Compare that with Four Winns that lists top speed of every model and every engine of every model. All you seem to get from Cobalt folks is “it may I give you 2 mph on top end” or something vague. Lol... oh well, my old boat was a 1996 18’ Glastron with a 180 HP 4.3 Merc and it would go 52mph. I am now spending wayyyyyyy more for a boat that will be 4’ longer, much nicer, handle rough waters better, but will be slower. That last part hurts, but when the panties fall off as babes enter the Cobalt I won’t care anymore. No woman is going to ask if I have the 240 or 280 in the boat. Haha.

Why do you think I got the LED lighting inside, and the LED light by the prop? Haha, every move I make has an end game, .. Just being on the water is almost enough, but with the sexiness of the Cobalt itself, the bikini may be on the dock before their toes even land on the boat. Just messing. It will be a great summer. Bought one of those inflatable water mat’s by Mission to expand the entertainment area. But yes, I wish I had the 280. Like the OP, this was the engine for the deal.
