Our boat is fairly standard with a few upgrades:

Transom Speakers
.

As for a name, we still haven’t decided. Is a 25’ “to small” to name?

I also thought about “Knot On Call, “Off Call” or “Seven Off” because I am a physician who works 7-on/7-off. Any other thoughts?

Not to small to name, regardless if you document it ... But ( here’s the but). With the transom speaker package you will be tight on room. The R5 emblem uses the prime space and made need to be moved or sacraficed..

Maybe some R series folk will chime in the “ let us name your boat “ thread.

I’ll leave you with one to properly hi jack this thread.

So I will be putting the name where the circle is and the R7 emblem where the arrow is.

We will be using The Rige Marina as home base and spending a fair amount of time with friends across the water at The Village at Lake Martin.

Our boat is fairly standard with a few upgrades:
VP 300hp engine
Seagrass Snap-In flooring
Mooring Cover
Transom Speakers
Aluminum Arch with courtesy lighting (small blue LEDs in the arch)
Makassar Dash/Interior Trim package
Terra Brown interior color
Stainless Steel Docking light

I will also have my auto detail shop do an “Ultimate Marine Preservation” where they do a detailed correction polish, followed by a 3-year ceramic marine gel coat protection. I have a similar (automotive version) product on all our vehicles and love it! Zero waxing for 3 years on the boat, and 7 years on our cars!

As for a name, we still haven’t decided. Is a 25’ “to small” to name? I know my Jeep has a name, so why not the boat right?

My daughter’s name is “Julia Ann” so that may be a possibility; but I almost hate to name it after her because she’s the one and only Julia Ann in my heart.

I also thought about “Knot On Call, “Off Call” or “Seven Off” because I am a physician who works 7-on/7-off. Any other thoughts?

An R5 just meets the requirements to do USCG documentation. I’d look into that. It requires a name and a hailing port. I’m not sure how it is in Alabama but registering the boat with the coast guard vs the state of MO saved me about 6k on sales taxes.
Our boat taxes in Alabama are pretty awesome. Our dealer used the location of where the boat is being delivered to determine sales tax. In our case, unincorporated Elmore county. Our total sales tax (state and county) was just over $2,300! :D

Hi! I’m a Hospitalist. Started out in general surgery but after my intern year I realized it wasn’t the lifestyle I wanted for myself or my family, so I swapped to IM and never looked back. You?

Nice Missouri is the same way if you do USCG. Mine was 2100.

Did you graduate in 2003 from Auburn? I was 2001. Dated a surgeon, they are a different breed for sure.

Yes, I graduated Auburn in 2003 and went to UAB until 2007. War Eagle!
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED the OR and everything about surgery except the time away from home. Working 100+ hrs/week during residency was certainly “do-able” but I just didn’t see it improving much after residency. If you’d have told me I would be a internal medicine doc at any time during medical school I would’ve laughed. However, as I became more familiar with Hospitalist Medicine and the opportunities for more time with my wife and children, it made the switch to IM an easy decision.

All of you newbies are going to fit in here just fine. You have most efficiently hijacked this introduction thread, and with no guidance, direction or prompting from the normal suspects. Well done.
