So, how many folks actually own a single screw 293? I grew up on Lymans, and if I can dock a single heavy as all get out inboard, I should be able to dock a single I/O. And, at least for me, I don't need to go 50 mph (I live in new England, on the Atlantic, I'll be lucky to hit 25kph most days)...and maybe there are those that value fewer mechanicals over raw power or docking prowess.
So, single screw 293'ers out there, please chime in!
Okay so I just purchased a 2003 293 with a single screw 496 w/bravo 3 prop. People say that it’s too much boat and I’m a novice boater... I put it on the lift with ease with a 10mph crosswind today. The boat planes quickly and provides a great ride. We were cruising at 45 with no issues.

It’s a big heavy boat, twins are economical for cruising as well, 3,000 rpms is around 33mph and gas use is surprisingly thrifty!

One more thought, the only way I can park is with the twins, much much easier for me, resale is much easier as well. Good luck.

I have a 1998 293 and the hinge for the walk through window decided it would no longer move at all. The hinge is integrated with the left window, window frame. The window glass has a sticker on it that says ALDON. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
THANKS MUCH.

Hey Gil. You might want to check with
Taylor Made Boat Windshield Solutions as they contracted with Cobalt.

I gave them a try. Unfortunately if you need anything for an older boat Taylor Made is of no help. Thanks anyway.
