I’ve probably done 30 with the factory one, easily 45 with the tower Bimini on my other boat. At 30 the factory one looks like it’s getting beat up...

I dont know of anyone that says, " hey, we need to put the bimini down. I'm gonna go a little faster than what is allowed right now". I'm sure the manuel's all say a minimum of 35 or whatever so when you show up with a torn bimini inside of warranty they can wiggle out of it.
I installed a West Marine bimini 3 boats ago and installed it just forward of the windshield. It worked great for shade but started showing signs of wear after a few years. It was still on there 10 years later when I sold it, and it was a cheapie. So I'm sure heavier fabric with a quality frame and hardware will be fine.

I can’t picture it, we rarely open it unless it’s scorching hot, but I think the R series comes over the windshield.
I’ve had it open over 50 mph. It can parachute slightly , but I don’t see it stressing.

I hope Cobalt copies what performance boat MFG do and Christ Craft with the Hideaway Bimini.
Id reconfigure my 282 if I could. I love this floor plan.

That looks great.
If you throw enough money at it I'm sure you could get that 282 reconfigured.

Funny how different the guidelines are for speed and usage. My dealer said max of 50mph—when both boat speed and wind are factored or in other words. 15mph wind plus 35 mph boat equals 50 mph. Or any combination that equals 50.
In other words BBP cN only use his Bimini on totally windless days...
