Mine is on starboard too. But y'all have to remember BB is like 4 foot nothing so climbing over the trailer hitch is sort of a big deal for him. And also remember, If he has to walk around the boat he has to take like two steps for every one of ours, so it's like twice the distance for him.
His ladder is on the port side too, so when he uses the switch he has to walk across the swim deck. A huge inconvenience...
Loce ya BB!

BB feels very strongly about this not being on the starboard side....you shouldn't listen to him just to annoy him!
Our factory one is on the starboard side and it doesn't bother me to walk a few more steps around the boat or truck. I can find other weird things to complain about than that switch being on the "wrong" side! LOL
Well BB you may end up getting your way

Someone on the Cobalt FB page posted this pic of their factory location under the handle. Mine is on the port side, so I'm going to try to make it work over there, I guess I can always extend the harness if I need to.

Good news....there's enough harness to reach the handle on the port side

Wired the switch in to test it, it works how I was hoping....full range from trailer position to full down, bypasses the trim limit switch. Perfect!
Ran wires this afternoon, will drill holes and mount the switch tomorrow. Super easy, it's all plug-and-play.

Hard to see kinda but the wire harness is sitting right below the handle bolts on the right side of the pic. This is looking backwards, so that's the port side of the transom.

It's off center. I hope your OCD doesn't mind!

OEM is off center too, according to the last pic I posted above. I followed this guide. Probably looks different because I don't have the warning sticker next to it.

Besides it being off center why would you put it on that side of the boat?
