Boatrover wrote: Sat May 05, 2018 10:23 am I am in the same situation with my boat sitting next to the garage during boating season. I have a full Sunbrella cover and just ordered universal boat skirts from boat covers direct to cover the sides. I have not received them yet so I do not know how easy they are to put on each time. The skirt has a hem sewn in that you slide pipe insulation/ pool noodles into and place that under the rope of the full cover.
I'm curious too.. my full mooring cover has a skirt to cover the drives.. impossible to install on a hoist.

But a side skirt that doesn't whip against the hull side would be nice.. avoid the half fade caused by the cover.

Post some pics when you get them!
Not completely happy but the sides are covered. Right now the sides will flap in the wind

I like it.. as we all know about the fade from sun on gelcoat.

Your only using it for storage so its a perfect solution. youll be the guy without the boat cover sun burn fade!

Is there another code for baldmikes or just the standard pricing which looks pretty good?

Good thread.

I'm in the market for a driveway cover and finding anything for the R3 is challenging. I'm assuming it's because it's still considered a newer style/model.

Does anyone know if there's a timeline on when Cobalt allows aftermarket parts like covers to be produced?

7 years---please tell me you're kidding.

I actually inquired to my dealer about the factory mooring cover and to my surprise, they steered me away from it. They said it was an absolutely great cover--abeit expensive, but because of the weight, it was extremely difficult to put on if the boat is in the water. That's what led me to start the search for a driveway cover.

So far, these are the best I've found (but I admit I'm not that good at internet shopping).

For the cost, not sure I'm crazy about the marine polyester vs a sunbrella style fabric.

Anyone have experience with these?

Anyone here tried the Marine Concepts boat cover that slides on and off? I think I also saw they make them for trailers as well. They are expensive. I am talking to them about one for my slip.

Yes I was kidding. My 7 year humor 😀

My mooring cover was a bitch to put on in the water. It's the sharkskin material. It works great. I have sunbrella on the bow and cockpit Cover. I would go sunbrella myself.

I picked up the sunbrella 10 year from Go2marine, keep an eye on the site. I got 20% and free shipping on a sale. Excellent cover, and it when it rains in Utah, it rains, no wet inside, breathable 'ish, it does have vents, came with a pole but I don't use it. Takes 3 minutes to take off, 9-10 to put back on, fits well and looks pretty good. Thought I had a picture, I'll have to get one.
