bcv_23 wrote: Mon Jun 14, 2021 8:55 am Anybody have recent communications with cobalt or dealers about different lead times? Better or worse?

I cant get anyone at Cobalt to answer their phone, return a phone after I leave a message, or return an email. I speak with my dealership salesperson as now he has time on his hands with no boats to sell. He tells me that guys are calling into Cobalt and getting better responses on delivery than his dealership does. This doesn't sit very well with me. We are relatively young boat buyers with many left to buy in our lifetime - I highly doubt with the lack of response or care we have been getting in general that cobalt will be on the list next time around.
My dealer took care of talking to Cobalt. He has relationships with folks who work there from years of buying boats from them. Thus getting some info or pull. Ill admit info was sporadic at times and nothing was for sure.

Thought- would imagine you negotiated a price with the dealership back when you placed the order and gave the deposit. Going to assume that price is MUCH better than any price you could negotiate today? Thus wonder if some dealerships are hoping people back out due to the wait. Then sell the boat when it comes in at much higher price. After all they can't get more to sell quick enough. My dealership said they can't even do a boat show this year; no boats.

Hope you can get info soon. Stay strong.
Good point on them being able to profit much more if I were to step away. When we ordered Cobalt had a lower nationally advertised discount that is also gone now. I also had to pay the difference upfront over their "standard" yacht club trailer to get a "special order" Heritage, I am sure they would keep all premiums for special order items and possibly my boat DP too.

O man! Thats great. You are sitting on a stellar deal my friend. Those nationally advertised discount prices upset a bunch of dealerships. Made It near impossible to make extra money an educated buyer. I used that advertised price from a different model boat to figure my percentage off the one I wanted. Worked well!

Whenever your boat gets here? You can use it for a year or more (depending on how long this lasts) and sell for same or more than bought for. Not a bad place to be! FYI- just sold a truck for 8k more than I paid a year ago! And put 28k miles on it. (no discount really on the new one though) Im going to assume Cobalt with be adjusting pricing for 22? Not seeing anything getting cheaper these days!

Stick with it. Think you will be in a good place when she finally gets here. Dont think you will see any national advertised pricing for years to come.

Boat shows express purpose is to sell boats.
Boats are selling. No need for boat shows.
