lol, then swap an LS into it. Not only would that thing hydrolock from inversion faster than you can say 'oh Sh*t!', it wouldn't last long turning 7k rpms all day in a boat. My kinda car though!

They both sound great. It would be interesting to know the cam specs between Mercruiser and Volvo big blocks.

How much MPH did you gain on yours with the tune. Do you have a thread with all your tune info?
Please return to Chapter 1. We will be sending out quizzes tomorrow on the mph estimates .

Here you go

I was actually asking if BBP had a thread on his tune.
Honestly I don't know if I started a thread. I think during the winter akro just pushed me over the edge and I just hijacked his thread with him going down kind of the same road together. So I think if you read this whole thread I think I added mine in here.
Ackro was really going for more performance. He wants a 502 454. So that's where Whipple comes into play. Myself. I was trying to fix a int stall issue. And Volvo had some upgrade programs since mine was made. Then I got my props done and they are a smaller diam and they will spin at a higher rpm. So I had my fuel cut raised as well. So then I of course wanted more perf. So I had him tweak timing and fuel and so on. Also I had him raise my base idle a touch. Couldn't really notice it yet. Iac isn't set yet. So mine started and idled so far that's all I know. I have no clue how all of this is going to come together yet. Maybe in a week I'll get her wet before taking the family out. Obd Diagnostics out of Cali did mine. No one really does Volvo. If I had a merc I would have went with Whipple also. I hope for 62, 63 them in happy.
Side note akcro will get 64.

Nice. Either way you can upgrade it. I went with a Comp cams "extreme marine" version years ago when I did my 502 in my 22 Donzi. It was great from 3000 rpm to 5200 and idle was good. The thought was going with the higher EMI manifolds that water reversion fear would be less of an issue over the stock manifolds. Gotta love water in the exhaust system right? Since we are doing Idle clips.. here you go

Awesome Matt!

We're never crowed up here. That's the nice thing about our water chain here. Come on up. I think I'm taking off Friday to do a test run before putting the family on board. Hope the weather holds out.

Awesome, if the lakes are still closed here we may just do that! I have another buddy on the southern point of Winnebago that’s been trying to get me up there too, we can get a caravan going, lol.

No problem. Let me know. As of now we are making no plans. So we are open. If the weather is decent Friday I'll be taking off that day to hit the water. Pm your number if you do come up.

Well, lakes opened up today and the rain held south so we actually got some boating in!

Good news, the Whipple tune is hotter than the stock tune. Mostly in the mid-range, pulls hard to 5k but won’t turn to the new 5300 redline. Might need some prop labbing?

If I can get it turning 5300 I’ll be in 64mph range, but it needs something to get there.

It barely cracked 59 on the stock tune, for a second or so at a time. With the new tune it pulls hard up to 59-60 and stays there as long as I want it to.

Well that's much better news then before. Do You have to run 91 or 93 octane?

Good to hear! Yeah too many blades ( 7 ) on the deep running bravo 3 is what’s holding her back. I’m with you on labbing and taking cup out of the tip. Be nice to find a duplicate used set to cut the blade diameter down and lab those 😎
I’m glad she’s running good though.
