I'm guessing that with so many people here at TRL, that we have several Cardinal fans.

Anyone got any interesting stories?

I got to attend one game in the early 60's at Sportsman's Park. Sat in the upper bleachers on third base side of outfield. Hank Aaron hit a home run down the line that I couldn't see.

Second game was new Busch Stadium on Memorial Day Sunday of 1966. Bob Gibson pitched a 3 hitter against the Astros and Orlando Cepeda went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, and the first home run ever hit to straight away centerfield...it was a big stadium at the time.

Next game I saw, Aaron hit two more homers.

Next several time I saw them, the Lee Smith days, were all in Miami as I was living it Ft. Lauderdale.

Last time in St. Louis at new stadium, July 4th weekend, Scherzer pitched lights out for Washington. But I did get the Red, White, and Blue Stars and Stripes Cardinal cowboy hat, which I'll post later. Both are on the boat for shade.

Been a life long cardinals fan as I grew up in St. Louis. In fact I am almost certain I am a 1982 world series baby as I was born 9 months later lol. I have gotten to witness the final out of the 2006 and 2011 world series from the new stadium which has been awesome!

I worked downtown for awhile and use to cut out for day games all the time when they would have a thursday day game in the spring or september. But I would have to say the 10 years the Cardinals had AP5 was my favorite time to be a cardinals fan. Just such an electric hitter and between him, Molina, Rolen, and Edmonds it was just a great time to be a cardinals fan. Being at table rock more now than in St. Louis I am still lucky to get the games down here. In fact their double A team is just north of here in Springfield and we went up earlier in the month for a game. Was a good time to see the future of the cardinasl.

Triple A team in Memphis is also fun to watch. There's a chair in right field painted a different color. It's where AP5 hit a home run to win the league before moving up to St. Louis. A lot of my favorite players over the years have been the first baseman. When I was a kid, Cha Cha, aka Cepeda was my favorite. I never liked Joe Torre because they traded Cepeda to get him. Jack Clark, wow, one of the most feared hitters in baseball.

I have fond memories of the time you were conceived. Great World Series.

In 2006, a guy with a Cardinal hat and a guy with a Cubs hat walked up to the high roller pit at casino I work at. The Cardinal guy asked me if I know how the Cardinals and the Cubs were alike. I thought awhile, and gave up. He said, "They're both trying to win a World Series in their NEW stadium."
