Congrats, beautiful boat! Curious, what stereo head unit does it have? Rockford or Fusion?

Thanks Sierra588. My boat came with a Fusion head unit. I was expecting Rockford and was confused by that as well but none of the literature or Design my Dream Boat mentioned brand. I'm not very familiar with Fusion. Is that the brand used in Malibu or just a new replacement for Rockford in the R6? Other than taking longer than expected to power on, it worked fine overall.

I would rather have Fusion. I have seen multiple RF complaints of failure. I also believe Fusion is wireless remote capable

Thanks Krob & BBP! And Krob - definitely looking for the Cobalt to deliver more quality family time away from screens and distractions. Looking forward to it many great memories with them. Already started yesterday with my son who was grinning ear to ear the entire time during our delivery orientation. :)

Good to know dustinm! The interface seemed intuitive and responsive once on. Will do a better test of the coming days but so far, no complaints.

Agree with dustinm, Fusion Apollo has some new features that Rockford doesn’t. Should perform well and offer more customization. Did you notice if it was 670 or 770 by chance?

Sierra - just purely based on Fusion's website and visual identification, it is the 670. I have the same buttons loadout as the 670 which is aligned along the bottom.

I'm thinking the Platinum audio upgrade might be using a head unit from Infinity based on the R6 Surf video on their website.

Hey S588...welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

Any idea if the Fusion Apollo unit has dedicated subwoofer volume controls on the face? We sure love that feature. Any pics of your Cobalt? Where do you boat?

Again welcome aboard mate!

From what I’ve seen there isn’t a dedicated/physical sub volume control. But it does have the ability to control sub and multiple zones via the head unit or smartphone. Added benefit is DSP (equalizer) functionality via the app. Looks to be pretty slick sound system, but I haven’t used yet.

I’m a soon to be Cobalt owner (R8 Surf) started production on 3/23 and can’t wait to get on Mark Twain Lake in MO! The suspense is a bit overwhelming as I don’t have visibility into production status. The Cobalt factory needs a “Pizza Tracker” so we can stay current on the build process, lol.

Appreciate the warm welcome and community spirit here. I have learned a lot from all the posts.

Congrats! Absolutely Beautiful! 😍😍😍😍😍

I like seeing Cobalt on the Bimini tower cover again. I haven’t seen it on the 3,5,7 Bimini tower covers.

Your dealer can tell you exactly what the status is. Mine told me production start date, completion, shipping out date, arrival date at the dealer's facilities, prep & water test date, etc. He laid it all out for me which definitely helped. Would have loved a "pizza tracker" type of app however! Great idea for Cobalt/Malibu! :). Your day is around the corner. I think mine was ~3 weeks from production start to getting here and ready for me to take ownership.

Enjoy and welcome as well! She's a beauty and was a close consideration vs. the R6 Surf.

And yes you can control 4 zones from the Fusion head unit. I'll take more photos of it on Friday when I go back out and also explore its options for controlling the sub.

Must be the individual dealers and what separates ok dealers from great ones. Mine or my salesman doesn't really sweat the small stuff like dates. Maybe because our deal is on the small side there IDK? I have directly asked some of these questions and he just skirts around them. Dont get me wrong he's a really nice guy and we chat it up every time I call. I believe it may just be his laid back personality trait IDK? And if he doesn't give a set delivery date that prevents an argument/hard feelings if something comes up and things get delayed, whether whose fault it is.(I agree that both parties should be understanding that their are things out of anyone's control that can happen)

Now he has sent me the factory order sheet a week before the build which has the options and start date 4-13 (hope this turns out good beings it starts on 13), but that was only for us to sign off on to prevent any foul-ups. I am guessing this was insisted by Cobalt?

It sounds like your dealership is the one everybody should deal with and the one I would like to. This is also the type of dealer any brand needs if they want to gain market share.
